My mother grew up in this era and I asked her if she dated or hung around guys that slicked their hair back and wore the leather jackets like the Fonz..she said she did. I love the short hair styles and military cut verses the long hair on men and even little boys today. *Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there.
I did my hair like this for a 50's party once and it was a pain in the butt. Don't know how guys did it back then daily. I can attest that's what I had to do exactly!

I remember those days and dated those 'hairstyles' too.

one of my brother combed his hair that way and would comb by 1 year old nephew's hair that way as well.
I recall that from the golden olden days 😁
I wonder where they all are now.
I had no idea fellas cared about their hair so much! 10-12 minutes. Wow!
Nice looking kids. This was like The Fonz or the movie Grease. 👍
I think I recognize Arthur Godfrey’s voice in the background; he must have been cohosting.
The last guy with flattop DA was cool
The greaser look was in then.
One could tell a greaser from a frat immediately back in those days 😁
Grease is the word....
I guess humour was different back then. Presley and Valens had that style of hair during that era.
Elvis is the reason 🕺
A couple of years later everybody was combing their hair in the opposite direction because of The Beatles.
Looks like they're from New Jersey.
I'm glad Allen didn't catch me doing my hair in the 80's. 😅
This trend died forever 3 years later! lol

They are as bad as my sisters!
They’re all trying to look like Elvis or James Dean--I prefer this look over the horrible hairstyles our high school boys have today.
