Me and some friends lived in edam many years ago. Maybe 18-20 years ago now. We all worked in a factory called pruve. Great times, didn't really appreciate it back then as we was alot younger but it's such a lovely town with great people aswell. Very friendly
Your videos make me so happy- I especially love the small towns and villages, and this is definitely one of my favorites (although, you make it difficult to narrow down! Also loved Giethoorn!) :)
I was there week ago. This came as a biggest surprise of the Netherlands vacation, as Edam isnt advertised as the top place to visit. I almost missed it, since I was doing the so-called Waterland tour, but due to time constraint I came here from Volendam, instead of to Marken. And what a decision it was!! All those tiny street with small houses and despite beautiful weather and mid-day COMPLETELY EMPTY - tourists seemed to concentrate around the town hall area, what leaves those streets perfect for gentle strolls and photography. Dont know when this film was shot, but it is exactly as here: EMPTY. If youre in an Amsterdam area, have little time and need to make decisions: go to Edam. Forget Zaanse Schans, forget Volendam, forget Broek, Edam is the top spot IF you must choose one place. Honest recommendation.
Zou graag Tilburg en Hulsberg (naast Valkenburg) een keer willen zien op je kanaal. Ik woon in Zweden en als ik heimwee heb, vind ik het prettig om eventjes naar de oude woonplaatsen terug te blikken!
@@endahedwin8083 It's pretty much always like that. I grew up there. 2:34 that building on the corner with the 2 grey awnings, used to be owned by my grandfather and his father. They had a furniture store there.
Good job! Thanks for sharing!
Always beautiful view nice video sightseeing walk around.

This old town is so lovely. Alley, streets, old houses, canals, everything is lovely :)
No graffiti! Unfortunately, it's rare in The States to see any city area so clean.

28:30 Friends, can someone please explain to me the all-gold bike with the wash mitts on the handlebars and the towels hanging from it?
It’s a bike they change every month or two. It’s like an attraction to take pictures with for tourists. They’ve been doing it for the past 10 years (:
