All good points. My suggestion from years of backcountry trips is this…..take notes as your trip progresses. What works, what doesn’t work, what to change add or leave behind. By the time you return home from your trip you most likely won’t remember half of them. By doing so you’ll improve each trip and have more fun.

This!!!!! Good Job!!!!! This was excellent!!! I totally dig that it was 5 (6) things that I really didn’t think about. When people talk about “5 things” is about the physical items vs the things you don’t think about, at least I don’t. Thank you for doing this!! When you make it out to California, you let me know!

I wish I could give your comment more hearts Burgi! Thank you so much for your constant encouragement and I am SO glad this is the kind of info you were looking for. Without your gentle pushing, I don't when or if I'd have ever sat down and thought through exactly what advice I could give. Maybe one day I'll make it out to your side of the country! Take great care!

Wonderful information! I camped a great deal as I was growing up with my family. So I'm a little rusty as a 59 year old woman. Thanks for making and sharing this video Jen. ❤

Thanks go to subscriber Burgi for her encouragement to film this one :-) Once I got onto the idea though, I had a good time kind of trying to say what I would have found useful when I was starting out - which wasn't all that long ago! I'm so glad you enjoyed this - I think as we get older, we get more sense about us and, in some ways, that can make camping more enjoyable. Thank you for watching!

Great video and good points made. I actually watched it while on my maiden truck camping trip with my new partially built set up. Testing the gear at home is so important, especially if it’s new and not familiar.

You may wish to watch podcast on UA-cam Vancity Vanlife and The cat van lady. Both will give you a ton of information based on people who live full time traveling throughout Canada . Your suggestions are excellent i really enjoy watching your podcasts too. You may think about what protection you need as a single woman sleeping in the van. There are more n more wackos out there. Op sec being observant about your surroundings. Move if your gut tells you that it's not a safe place or if something changes in your environment.
