As petrolheads, the magical 60mph figure means a lot. It almost defines the car, and the man!
Today, we are testing the real world 0-60mph time that can be achieved by a factory original 2.0 sport tec Mx5 (Or Miata for our friends across the pond)

I can’t find an explanation of what the NC3 and NC3.5 are. I’m assuming NC2 is 2008-2011, and NC3 is 2012-2014? So where does 3.5 come in?
I’m looking into buying a Miata and it seems the NC2 2012-2014 is what I should look for? I found a 2011 PRHT (I want PHRT) for sale in my price range, but didn’t know if there’s reason to go with something else. I’d love to add more power but I hear the only thing is the 2.5L swap, because the turbo isn’t worth it?? Idk

NC 2 is the 2008 first facelift model (and some mechanical mods), NC 3 is the 2012 facelift. Also called Mk. 3.5 and Mk. 3.75, with Mk. 3 being the original NC.

NC1 2006 to 2008
NC2 2009 to 2012
NC3 2013 to 2015
"MK" is just what they call it in Europe instead of "NC".

@@TheFracturedfuture not really, although it is weird, NC1 is Mk3, NC2 and NC3 is Mk3.5, the reason why some people call it that way is because the Mk3 MX-5 (NC1), has different engine components than the Mk3.5 MX-5 (NC2) (NC2 got forged internals, and higher profile cams, hence why the NC2 and NC3 rev to 7500rpm, while NC1 can only rev to 6800rpm), and NC3 didn't get any other major changes compared to NC2, hence why NC3 is still called Mk3.5
