It is not easy to understand, but for me Hersonissos is the perfect place, because you meet people from all over the world. Even in my little crete hotel! The people are nice and kind there and you can get what ever you want: different beaches, party nights and even a calm place. With the bus you can go to Agios Nikolaos, Sissi, Heraklion without a problem. Last year I visited Rethymno by bus as well. And the place changes every year a little bit.
