Yeah, I tried it with evasion mantle first but it didn't seem to do much since I can't seem to roll through the roar even with the mantle and most of the time is spent under its chest/belly where you're safe from most attacks anyway, so yeah ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Apparently, Vaal Hazak suffers from the 2nd gen roar syndrome, so his roar hitbox lasts the entire roar instead of just at the start of the roar animation. No idea why they did that...
Vonix TM honestly after playing the game I find bazelgus to be the hardest monster in the game. That’s just my options but that’s what I believe. And that comes from hours of farming him nergegante vaal and others.

I prefer the evasion skills on SA, mostly evasion distance as it increases the mobility of the weapon. In your experience with World, have you come across a armor set that still deals a good amount of damage while also having that evasion distance skill? Or would you say that learning how to use the weapon without the evasion distance skill would be primarily optimal for the damage gains, only if you haven't come across a set that incorporates both? Loved the run, SA is my favorite weapon by far.

Could you please explain to me how you are getting sword energy back in chunks while in mid-combo? I've fairly new to the switch axe and I usually have to use all of the sword energy to where it forces me into axe form and then hit R2 in order to get a small amount of energy back. Or could someone run me through the buttom combos I should be using to maximize damage?
you can switch modes at any point in the combo with R2. During axe mode, your sword gauge automatically refills so I keep switching modes to never run out of gauge

You also get a bit of bonus energy back to the sword guage when switching back to axe midcombo which is why you usually don't want to mode change outside of a combo.
A fast and effective combo on axe is triangle and smash circle, after 4 or 5 hits, press R2, you will deal high amount of damage and recover your sword energy to keep attacking
I have a similar build but I'm not doing much damage as you do, I'm not considering those attack busters pills, never used but it seems very very useful
Yeah, monsters react to those flashes and will run to their position, it's a good way to lure them in a favorable spot before the fight starts instead of waiting for them to walk there
Why don't you use the Vaal's SA for more damages? You can have better skills since you need less decorations to get almost the same raw DPS with the Vaal's, but then you add the dragon damage on top of that. A full DPS build on both SA is only around 1-2% difference of raw damages. You could get Attack Boost 6, Crit Boost 3, WE 3, Dragon Attack 2, Handicraft 2 (white sharpness), Protective Polish and Effluvial Resist 3. (or you could go with Crit Element from 2 pieces Rathalos and have Attack 7 Crit Boost 2 or Attack 5 Crit Boost 3), and the resulting DPS would be better than with the Diablos SA.
everytime i use swagaxe i get stuck at my combo cuz the charge runs out and it annoys me. So, the solution for this is to switch to axe mode when i hit the monster 4 or 5 times before the charge runs out right?

Your weapon - is it the full version of the Diablos SA? It's a bit hard to tell and I'm not familiar with all the endgame weapon upgrade names.
I think you could do faster if you pull him near the bones up on the ceiling and shoot the bone is free 500 dmg and he falls down,just pick the rocks and do your thing at the beginning.
Is there a best way to keep the amped stated for switchaxe going as long as possible, I seem him doing the morph swing with the axe a lot. Mine always seems to run out too soon ;/
Buhry amped state is always 45 seconds unless you use power prolonguer. However what he is doing is morphing the weapon mid combo to regain switch gauge so he can spend more time in sword mode, not amped.

basically, a lot of min/max builds use diablos weapons if they are available because, according to popular opinion, they're the best raw damage weapons out there. that's only if you have lots of space for skills though, if you're running a basic build and you don't have the decorations for all those skills (lv. 4 handicraft is a must have for diablos weapons on top of the other skills), nergigante's or vaal hazak's switch axe will be easier to work around. that's basically what the nergigante weapons are for, if you ask me.
indeed, 10% extra damage at the cost of only 2 slots is relatively game breaking. i hope capcom at least raises the elemental cap, not because elemental damage is useless, but because it just can't compete since it's so costly in comparison to make an elemental set that only matches or outperforms raw damage on some monsters.
I think they need to move elemental weaknesses to the extremes a bit more. A monster with almost no elemental weakness, like Kirin, would be nice because a pure raw weapon like the Thanatos axe would work best against them, whereas elemental weapons wouldn't. And more monsters with higher elemental hitzones to even it out, so I have to choose between more weapons. At least give me a reason to switch off of my 300 raw SwAxe, I shouldn't be using raw against Elder Dragons. It feels wrong.
i was always a sucker for raw damage in 4u and generations, but now i feel otherwise. in reality, the differences are negligible in casual or semi-hardcore play if you're really good, but i'm not ridiculing min/maxers

The true power of the SA is it’s infinite combos because of the ability to switch between sword and axe mode. Which means you never have to stop attacking.

You should be getting under 7 minutes kills unless you are playing it too safe. Try to pump out the aggressiveness and stick to the monster like your life depends on it.
I gotta say, out of all the elder dragons, Vaal Hazel has to be the easiest. Especially after you get his armor with effluvia resistance, the fight’s a cake walk.
i unlocked it as soon as i beat nergigante the first time, but if you're wondering about the sinister cloths, you get those from tailraider safaris. go for the route which has the most red cards that are 3* and up or just normal cards that are 4* and up. getting all the cloths will take some time, just be patient.

the discharge is actually an easy way to get sword mode into amped state pretty fast; discharge starts faster if you use it right after the O attack, so O into discharge is my go-to combo if I want to get into amped ASAP. still pretty situational, of course

TheGoldenFruit use kushala legs. Other pieces can consist of nergi or rath and such.

Bryn Harris they stack now as far as i know. You can stack drug, powder, seed and pill for an obtuse boost to your damage.

2nd0000000000 It’s not a great move. The damage can be made up from a few sword swings and the recovery time is long not to mention the sharpness and sword gauge loss.
the discharge is actually an easy way to get sword mode into amped state pretty fast; discharge starts faster if you use it right after the O attack, so O into discharge is my go-to combo if I want to get into amped ASAP. still pretty situational, of course
