I want to say that I am a big fan of Andy and Ari, I thought they did a good job here. I would assume that you can't press a guest like Kirk. I used to really like "Herbie", but not anymore. Yes, I am a Buckeye. It never bothered me when he picked against OSU, I couldn't care less. I think the whole "they don't like me because I pick against their team" thing is crap. My problem with him is that he continually attacks OSU fans. He goes out of his way to paint them in the worst light. I believe that is why most OSU fans don't like him. A lot of CFB fans will agree with him about the OSU fanbase, but I think that may have something to do with OSU being so polarizing. In addition, we can be hard to take. I will not overlook that. I don't agree with any threats being made. But when the threats or "hate messages" are coming from LOverboy69 with an Avatar of Pokeman, are we really going to take that seriously? I am also willing to wager a significant amount of money, that 95% of negative social media posts were made about Ryan Day, and not the players. I tried to go into this interview with an open mind, but this is one of the more disingenuous interviews that I can recall. Kirk literally said on the 1st round broadcast that he thought the lunatic fringe made up 15-20% of OSU fans. Today he somewhat backpedaled, and explained that the lunatic fringe were the people who were sending hate messages to players. Or the people who were causing Ryan Day to have armed guards at his house. So you're telling me that 15-20% of OSU fans are sending hate messages and threats to these coaches and players? No, you were originally talking about the portion of the fanbase who jeered the team after and during the Michigan game, and who justifiably questioned if their team had the right coach after losing 4 straight to Michigan. On Saturday night, I noticed that the Steeler fans were booing. A large portion of their fanbase would like to replace Mike Tomlin. Guess who was calling the game for Amazon? It's funny that he never mentioned anything regarding Tomlin or the booing. "I was not talking about Indiana directly". Well Kirk, who were you talking about? "What if Iowa was 9-3?". Well Kirk, they weren't, they were 8-4. If he has a publicist, I hope that they tell him to chill out for a while. It would've been a better look if he just defended what he said and not backed down. Or maybe lead in with the fact that he was exhausted and tired and wasn't thinking clearly. Again, very disingenuous.
The point of the playoff is to show you can hang with the big dogs. This isn't a charity. Indiana had one legitimate test all year and got obliterated. I feel like people are forgetting this is for the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. How you do against actual contenders is super important.

I love Herbstreit, easily my favorite guy in the booth and him and McAfee make a great combo on GameDay. He has done far more back-tracking and apologizing this year than I have ever heard from someone on TV. My biggest issue with him and all the other ESPN guys saying they don't cater to SEC is that all you have to do is watch GameDay and SportsCenter and look at how much time they will devote to them vs everyone else. Big 10 comes the closest but even then its mostly just OSU, Mich, Penn St and this year they got to add Oregon. But if your team isn't in those 2 conferences or playing one of them they might get a 15 second clip on SportsCenter and good luck finding anything ever said about them on GameDay. The only way they talk about them is for a G6 team to be undefeated or have someone like Jeanty making a possible Heisman run. So while the big wigs aren't outwardly going up to them and saying talk more about them...the producers and the on air talent sure as hell don't do anything to step out and try to cover the other schools with even 1/10 of the effort that they put into the SEC
