    Recently I got my Nerdy Gurdy and your videos are pure Gold! Thank you so much!
    It's my first instrument but it's so much fun :) Turning the crank in rhythm with the keys and the metronome is really tricky. It's like my brain is melting 😂

    I have a general sheet music question: When we do an accidental sign to carry on throughout the bar and we have to use a natural sign to cancel it, why not just have it so that the accidental sign is for each note? Then wouldn't there be no need for natural signs or the context of other notes with accidentals on them?

      The decision was made long ago that repeating the use of the accidental sign to affect the note over and over again within the measure wasn't the best use case scenario as it creates too much repetition for the manuscriptor and also in general if a note changes within one measure there's a reason behind it so likely it will stay that way. There's also things called courtesy accidentals, which are much more confusing, but that's another story.
