Very phenomenal business class product, especially that Westjet is newer to being a full service carrier!
Westjet is reverting to being a low cost carrier. No lounge access in Dublin as well as using the same gate area as Air Transat and Ryanair where boarding is done via stairs.
DUB also has capacity issues re boarding gates
One of the best planes in the WestJet Fleet
Thank you for this thorough video report. I'll be flying this route come October. Disappointed with no lounge access and the chaotic boarding procedure. My mom is in a wheelchair, so I wonder if they'll make us the very last to board. Hopefully the inflight experience will be as nice as yours. I purchased this seat as a treat for my mom in her final years as she's never flown business or 1st class in her life.
I know they have a truck that works as a wheelchair lift from the ramp to the plane on the right side. A passenger used it on my flight and were amongst one of the last to board. Thanks for watching and I hope this helps and you two enjoy the WestJet 787 business class experience as much as I did.
Incredible my favorite airline in Canada 🇨🇦
I watch all your videos and am trying to overcome my fear of flying. It’s debilitating and I need to travel for work 😢😢😢😢
I've flown transatlantic with WestJet a few times now, I will only fly on the Dreamliner as it is such a different experience. Having flown economy, premium and business, I must say premium and business are well worth the extra money if you watch for deals directly with WestJet, I've cut price in half just by flying a day earlier. The Dublin to Vancouver 'return' flight is currently half the cost of LGW to YVR so I think I'll be taking business back and the extra rail, ferry journey from London through Wales and on to Dublin (abt $120 CAD), just for the added excursion.
What's even better is WestJet has stopped long haul from Toronto last fall (I got the final flight back through YYZ) so the 737 is only a short hop to Calgary (WestJet's headquarters) which has the excellent Elevation lounge, instead of 5 excruciating hours in a lipstick tube. I always plan trips with extended connection times of about 3hrs so I can enjoy the lounges and it helps the connection panic if there are delays on the tarmac. Thanks for the upload, very nicely presented!
Interesting that YYC has a lot more international (Europe) service than US airports twice the size.
One thing that really annoys me is when airlines have a messy boarding process, other than that, great flight!
A little dialogue would be nice here. Keeps it from getting boring.
