You cannot go wrong when you trust a lifelong fan. I told you 2 months ago that this version will blow you away! Starship Trooper from this same show is also one of the best! The greatest band on this or any other planet!!!🔥🔥🔥😎
You know whats better than this…being there live in roosevelt stadium new jersey in 1975. Spiritual…very spiritual. We were the first ones in and the last ones out…YES!
Yes! I remember this now, the duel between Steve and Rick! Epic! I was there at Tsongas dude! Holy crap! This was the last time I got to see this lineup. We were pretty close to the stage and directly in front of Steve.
YES does no wrong ever. This tour in Dallas, Jon was giving his intro to this song, and I yelled out “I love you Jon”. He giggled but never looked my way. When we were allowed to go down front to the stage, he reached thru the small crowd, took my hand and said I Love You Too. How did he know it was me? LOL.
Most of the stage setups were designed by Roger Dean, the same guy who did album covers. Yeah, I noticed Rick got your attention. Seriously, you have had to be there, it took you places without chemicals.
HOLY SHIT! I am sooo glad that I lived in this era! I thought the future of music was going to be amazing, but that future never came. I have been a YES fan since 1972 when Roundabout was on the radio as a young teen. I have lucky enough to have seen YES live from 1976-2011 in many forms. All of which were great. I became a bass player because of Chris Squire the GOAT. RIP Chris and Alan.

Saw them on the 35th Aniversary tour, in Birmingham, UK, 2004. What a fabulous night, the set list was fantastic, loved the acoustic section of songs, they were in great form (as you can tell by this) and I cried during Ritual. On the way out, I suddenly said in a very positive manner……”That’s the last time I’m going to see them”……the friend I was with, looked at me with a astonished face, as if to say, why on earth wouldn’t you want to see them again. Well of course I did see them again, but never again, with Jon Anderson as the singer…………
The giant set of drums that you mentioned around Alan White were there because they did RITUAL on this tour, and those drums play a big part in that song. You should watch that from the 35th Anniversary video. That entire concert is amazing. "And You And I" is also especially excellent from this tour.
Warms my heart to see a young man enjoy Yes like I did way back when. Music critics claimed Yes would not be able to recreate their very particular sound outside of a studio setting. 😂😂😂 Music critics you were very wrong.
You have to hear from the same Concert: 'Mind Drive (Parts 1 & 2)' and the phantastic 'Ritual (Nous sommes du Soleil' with the superb Drum-Section - Alan White, Chris Squire (Kettle-Drum), Jon Anderson & Steve Howe - all togehter playing Drums & Percussion. The Perfomance of theese two Pieces are phenomenal. But, indeed: The entire 35th Anniversary 'Live at Tsongas' Duration almost 3 Hours is absolutely phantastic! I was there in 2004 in Munich/Germany! This Show was a absolute Peak, a Galactic Trip! 😀 Kind Regards Heinz. Greetings to your whole Family.
50 years ago I first heard this song in my attic room, with the volume on turbo. Now, as I hear this live version back here again, I'm going crazy again, just like then. Love the "fight" between Steve and Rick......😀
Another excellent choice. I went and see them on this tour. And yes I was tripping !!!!! at the show. I still have the concert shirt from the show and it's almost in mint condition to this day. Their performance the sound and stage was incredible. Thank you for bringing back such great times in my life again and again. If you like you can actually listen to the first show I went to on here. YES LIVE AT ROOSEVELT STADIUM NEW JERSEY 1976. Maybe give it a personal listen if you would like to. I applaud 👐👐👐 all your work here
Thank you so much Bruce I really appreciate it bro 🙏 thats awesome I would keep that shirt forever (and you have) and frame it lol. These guys are the BEST
I was at that show. 95 and sunny spent the whole day getting bumped till YES came out at dark. Tripping also. Had a crew of at least 20 to 30 people at show. Good times!
One of the things about Jon’s singing is that he does it without any help from studio tricks. The guy can SING - gentle and angelic to balls to the wall aggressive. Back in the day during live performances you could hear him just singing little bits between songs - brilliant. Technically and emotionally one of the true greats of our time - and he still has it! >> Have you reacted to any songs from Relayer? All three tunes from that 1974 release are eye/soul opening and your metal sensibilities will be put on notice. The keyboard player is different-just as skilled as Wakeman but with jazz rather than classical leanings. Keep up the good work!
You could even venture into Tales, "The Revealing Science Of God" will blow you away, and, even if if Rick was not pleased with the album at the time, He does some amazing keyboard work.
I had the privilege of seeing the band in concert 5 times and they do jam out on several songs.....just blows you away!!!! Yes fans are very very spiritual and know how to Part-tay!!!!
I saw them on this tour and it shocked me to my core when Steve and Rick started trading licks, it was amazing and one of these days I’d like to find some recordings of this on that tour, both a masters of their instruments and can improv at will. Love this!
you would have loved the stage for the earlier concerts...one time Allan and his drums were trapped inside a giant clam that was supposed to open...it didnt, but he kept drumming
It's so sad that you will never hear this song, live, with this same lineup, under a summer sky, stoned, holding hands with your high school crush. 1976 summer of my best concerts ever, Jethro Tull, FramptonComes Alive, Aerosmith and of course YES
I got to see this concert in Loveland Colorado on September 11, 2004. You couldn't have picked a better live performance than this one. Take Jeff's and my advice, watch Starship Trooper from this show!🤩
Interesting Fact: Even though this song first appeared on the 1972 "Fragile" album, for some reason the band never played it live (at least here in the States) until 2002. Thus, for this 2004 performance, it was almost new to them as well.
Saw them do this live the year prior in Sydney, have always loved this song from Fragile & as they do with Starship Trooper live that improvised extension in this case with the alternating solos of Steve & Rick really make it exciting. If you want to know what those illuminated drums surrounding Alan are for check out "Ritual" from the same tour DVD "Songs from Tsongas" , as a drummer I'm sure you'll love what you see & hear, cheers
I can tell you have genuine appreciation for this band, love it. I remember dragging my 10yr old daughter in 2000 to see YES in an outdoor arena, she was freaking out from the smell of herb being passed around. You're going to love when you get to listen to Heart of the Sunrise or catch the live version of Yours is No Disgrace, all recordings over 50yrs Old, fucking amazing when you think about it.
Yes was the first major group I ever saw in concert, during the Relayer tour in 73 or 74 been so long ago I forget the year. You mention the drums in this video. During the Relayer concert I saw in Pittsburgh the drum set was the wildest drums I've ever seen. Every drum had a bell on the bottom that looked like the bell on a tuba. The bass drum it came straight out and the rest of the drums had a 90 degree turn on them with the bell also pointing straight out. I've never seen a set of drums like that any where.
Here's a suggestion that I'm sure everyone will agree that was written by one of the greatest Progressive Rock Bands Ever, and an American Prog Band. The Wall, by the great band Kansas!
Make sure it's the 6:35 minute long live version of The Wall by Kansas live in concert. The singer will blow your mind how much heart that he puts into singing this song! Homegrown progressive rock at its best. ✌
Yes, Rick is a humorous person. On the Tales From Topographic Oceans tour, there were lengths of time, of the music, that Rick was not required to play. So, on a gig in the UK, prior to the show, he instructed a roadie to get him a "Curry." During the performance, when he was not required to play the keyboards, and while the others members of YES were playing, he ate the curry on stage.
Agree with the TODMOBILE AWAKEN - overwhelming! Do check out BIG BIG TRAIN INGENIOUS DEVICES or any of their live shows particularly EAST COAST RACER! A completely different vibe for you but as you love musicianship you will love them.
Those drums you are wondering about are called NORTH Drums, very unique look and sound, they were very popular in the later 70's. Love your vids man, so glad to see you really digging YES! Welcome to the club!
Yes plays like this in concert....long jams.....on lots of their songs in their concerts!!!! Amazing!!! And you loose your voice yelling!!! Hahahaaha....lol....hahahaaha
Those drums are for "Ritual." May want to check it out. "Turn of the Century," from this concert seeing as though Jon A's voice heavily featured. And don't forget about Jon A and Todmobile on Awaken. The Songs from Tsongas and Symphonic Live DVDs are my particular favorites. "In the Presence Of," on the latter. "Gates of Delirium," also. Hell, just watch them all. LOL (This coming from someone who went to all the live tours from 1986 until 2017). In 2017, there was a spin off group called "Anderson Rabin Wakeman (ARW) and they have a live DVD "From the Apollo". You can watch them rocking in their 70s with Jon A sounding like Jon A even then. I met him also (during this tour in 2004) when he was walking around in the shopping area at a casino. I hugged him because I was so starstruck. He was very nice about it and talked to me for a few minutes.
These guys absolutely kick ass and im so glsd these videos exist but it also makes me sad bc I'm too young to have seen them at this point (21) As a drummer i HIGHLY recommend the studio version of "Heart of the Sunrise" off Fragile. Some of Bill Brufords best work
I have always loved Bruford's understated drumming in the middle section of the studio version, but this live version is also great, particularly since they rarely play this song live (I never saw them do it live in the 70's). I don't know if you have reacted to Relayer or Tales yet, but those two albums will re-define your concept of music (yet again). Also, it's not technically Yes, but the live version of Awaken with Jon and Todmobile is a religious experience, with full orchestra and choir.
Obviously, Wakeman is a master of any instrument with a keyboard, but he is a truly exceptional pianist. His solo piano albums are amazing! Old school is accurate: that is a vintage 70s Mini-Moog. Wakeman is one of the few keyboardists who still loves using those vintage synthesizrs.
I saw Jon Anderson play three weeks ago (two nights in succession). He’s 79 yrs old- and his voice was BETTER than this. It was ridiculous. He had 18-19 yr old backing singers who had serious difficulties getting the harmony above him. He’s still singing high Bs and high Cs at 79. It was mind blowing
Thank you kindly. You ever get a chance give a listen to Chris Squire "Fish Out Of Water" album. There's also a live UA-cam vid of it with Bill Bruford drums (I know you dig him), Pat Moraz keys, and a few London Symphony Orchestra players. The vid cuts are 2 songs from that album "Hold Out Your Hand" and "You By My Side". Chris brings bass to the forefront and such presence. Truly magnificent. ...peace
Heart of the Sunrise I feel is the most intricate drumming I've herd. Don't know if it would translate live but the studio version is worth a listen to.
That’s cool you featured this tune (from Fragile album). And that you may also now be a Yes fan. As a metalhead I got turned onto them years ago and it affected how I look at music.
The ENTIRE “Songs From Tsongas” (silent ‘T’) concert is AMAZING from start to finish !!! Every artist in the YES family tree is a master of his craft !!!! Welcome to the YES family !!! ❤️ - Devoted fan of 50+ years ❤️❤️❤️
One of my favorite Yes songs! Man you're nailing it, the Jethro Tull was cool too! Check out Thick as a Brick by Tull, and they're like all of these other prog bands, everything they write is killer!
Thank you so much for watching guys. This one was certainly special 😊 want to help support the channel? Here's how! @L33Reacts - paypal $LeeMann3011 - cash app Thank you so much ❤
Exactly! (his wanting to mosh around) YES rock. They all are absolute killers on their instruments and can arrange it so it flat out shreds. Some people think of YES as boring noodling and Mozart. Until they hear them. I consider them a psychedelic rock band who took the road of practicing and grew their sound as they went further down that road. They are definitely Prog, Art Rock, and the rest, but they are a rock band. In your free time I hope you listen to YES on real speakers. Get those big bass sound waves hitting your whole body. I worry the kids today only know headphones and tiny Bluetooth speakers.
Ahhhh! Fragile...the covers alone sold me...Nod to Roger Dean...progressive before there was a name and genre...I liked Yes so much that I had to buy Wakeman's solo "Six Wives of Henry VIII" great, of course...
@@L33Reacts Maybe you should only play studio recordings with old progrock in your reactions. The music is too demanding. Much later versions of these iconic bands dont pay them justice too. This live version is more lame folk-rock. Mediocre drumming too. I admired Allan Whites work when he took over. Different animal.

Welcome to the club!
I remember that tour..1st concert in Seatle Wa.. Glorious😮
Don't know if it would translate live but the studio version is worth a listen to.
jon with some great RASP goin' on!!!!!!
YES!❤
That’s cool you featured this tune (from Fragile album). And that you may also now be a Yes fan. As a metalhead I got turned onto them years ago and it affected how I look at music.
The ENTIRE “Songs From Tsongas” (silent ‘T’) concert is AMAZING from start to finish !!!
Every artist in the YES family tree is a master of his craft !!!!
Welcome to the YES family !!! ❤️
- Devoted fan of 50+ years ❤️❤️❤️
One of my favorite Yes songs! Man you're nailing it, the Jethro Tull was cool too! Check out Thick as a Brick by Tull, and they're like all of these other prog bands, everything they write is killer!
Thanks bro 🙏 🙌 this was an amazing performance. These guys don't miss. Absolute masterclass in JAMMING 👌
@@L33Reacts Right on! ✌
Go see Jon Anderson with The Band Geeks in concert, they are planning another tour next year, it's all Yes music and they kill.
Sounds like a plan to me. Thank you for the tip 😉
Excellent!
Ritual from YesShows and or Sound Chaser from Relayer. Ask Jeff about these.
👍😎
"Yes" plus right amount of lsd and a bit of weed... now that's a good evening!
Thank you so much for watching guys. This one was certainly special 😊 want to help support the channel? Here's how!

Thank you so much ❤
Thanks for the pin Lee! Welcome to Yesworld. Enjoy the journey!!🔈🔉🔊😎
Yikes! Amazing! ❤️
Welcome to the call and response between the guitar and moog synthesizer!
You should watch Yours is no Disgrace from the 35th anniversary. I believe it's the best version. Steve Howe is superb.
You need to hear it in its original format. ! The bass and background sounds really kick even more
I have! It was amazing. Here's the link ua-cam.com/video/wvX9l4lkoBU/v-deo.html
Good!!
One’s favorite Yes song is the next one.
Ahhhh! Fragile...the covers alone sold me...Nod to Roger Dean...progressive before there was a name and genre...I liked Yes so much that I had to buy Wakeman's solo "Six Wives of Henry VIII" great, of course...
If you want to see "those drums" in action, watch "Ritual" from same concert.
Saw this Tour at Holmdel NY
I wish i could have seen them live in their prime. It was probably insane 😳 😅
Allways a good idea to check out the studio versions first.
ua-cam.com/video/wvX9l4lkoBU/v-deo.html I have! Here's the link
Check out the studio version from Fragile with Bill Bruford on drums.
They slowed it down at the beginning, then extended it at the end, at least compared to the studio version. 🥰
An old jazz technique...call and answer between instruments.
Jon Anderson is a once in a generation singer to me. No one has ever come close since.
All right, everyone, let's have a two-way solo jam in... uh... G#minor.... (challenge to jazz musicians)
I was gonna request thid yesterday 😂.
The studio version is on a total different level. (with Bill Bruford on drums)
It's in my yes Playlist! It was amazing 👏
@@L33Reacts Maybe you should only play studio recordings with old
progrock in your reactions. The music is too demanding.
Much later versions of these iconic bands dont pay them justice too.
This live version is more lame folk-rock. Mediocre drumming too.
I admired Allan Whites work when he took over. Different animal.
Jeff is everywhere.
YES, yes I am!!😎
He is indeed. I know when I go to a Yes reaction video, my good buddy Jeff will always be there!
Living legends....but not all anymore :(
