Thank you for the comparison. I have a B450 board build that will pair nicely with the 5500. My 3700X died. I bought it second hand and I'm pretty sure it had been severely overclocked and abused. I've been using my old Dell prebuilt w/a Core2Quad for several months now. My board doesn't support PCIe 4.0 anyway, so the 5500 is a cost effective solution for me. I'm happy it exists, I had been eye-ballin' used ZEN & ZEN+ CPUs, in the $150 range but, after my used 3700X crapped out, I really need a _NEW_ cpu this time.

it is a cpu comparison, so it makes sense. i would prefer the 5500, because of multicore advantages. nobody is just gaming on his computer, so those videos dont really show the "real world" performance. i think the i3 will struggle more, once you have some programs running in the backround, like discord and a browser on the second monitor, for example.
