This is a love song for the fans and an appreciation song for Billie and finneas’s enduring bond. During her live shows, she usually uses this as a love song for the fans..and she makes sure that the cameras are pointing at them and showing them on the big screens in back of her. Pretty cool. And the fans usually organize an appreciation for her and her music before the show by holding up hand made hearts during the song..or something to that affect.
Billie directed this and I think most people overlook the extreme detail she puts into her visual work. For instance, in the beginning, the way the lights and reflections pass by and over the car at the exact beat of the music. Top tier detail. She impresses me with everything she does. This song can absolutely seem a bit underwhelming, but the emotional meaning behind it and what she and Finneas mean to each other is heartwarming. They are truly each other’s “ride or die”.
@@13dma1rz Good on you for noticing! The truth for me is that I didn’t notice it, but she mentioned it in an interview or something, then I rewatched and was like “Oh!”
That was a hard lesson to learn as I was growing up. You’re not letting anyone down who is only there to use you. I had a problem trying to please people who would never be pleased no matter what I did.
Such powerful lyrics. Understandable though, she rose to fame when she was in her early teens. By 18, she was known worldwide. Can't imagine the pressure she was under. As an adult, that is difficult to deal with, but as a teenager, going through puberty, still trying to get to know themselves and the world. That must have been incredibly hard.
as someone else said..there’s a bunch of little things going on in this video that you won’t catch on the first view. But it starts right at the beginning of the video. The lights on the towers in the background light up with the piano notes. And yes..also the light reflections on the car windows on beat, when she talks about “stepping off the golden”, the scene out the car window changes to driving over a bridge. Keep looking. 😁

I think you are the only person other than myself who noticed the beat timed to the passing objects. Awesome.

Ty hasn't seen solid reactions to earlier! what? In while. Ty. Hugs from Sweden.
:-)
Great song, but the MV is a bit disturbing. Ocean Eyes is one of my favorites of Billie's.
