Something Wicked This Way Comes is in my top 10 books. It conveys the feel of October better than any book I have read.
I think I am going to read this soon 🙂
Ohh this def moves to the top of our TBR!
oooo I can't wait to read it!
One from each category! 1. The Atlas Six (I just finished ) 🖤 2. The Witch Haven (It’s a magic school, need I say more?) 🎃 3. The Inheritance Games (I’ve been wanting to read this and watch knives out for a while!) 🪓 4. Something Wicked this way comes (a carnival is perfect for spooky fall) 🍁5.Under the Whispering door (My most anticipated for fall cozy fall) 👻 6. House of Leaves (It seems so immersive, on my TBR) 🍁💀🖤🥧☕️🥰🐈⬛👻🎃
I would really love a vlog with Under The Whispering Door, House of Leaves, and Atlas Six!! They have no relation, but I think you’d might want to balance out House of Leaves with another book 😅 I can’t wait to see your vlogs, they fill me with such cozyness and warmth no matter the time of year and every week I look forward to them ♥️
Ok, but the mug!!! 😍😍
I would love to see a vlog about House of Leaves! It's extra cool paired with the album Haunted by the author's sister Poe
I’d love to see a vlog for Dracula and Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde as I’m also planning to read them myself
The girl who drank the moon is The Best middle grade witch story and congrats on 50k subs!!
Thank you so much!! And I agree I loved that book!
I think one of the best retakes on fairy tales is Kate Danley's "The Woodcutter" read it several times now and it doesn't get old.
I’d love to see a blog with any of these: Under the Whispering Door, The Ravens, Dracula, and The Atlas Six!
Vlog*
@@katsbookstack6234 my autocorrect does that all of the time too hahah!
The Atlas Six sounds so intriguing! I can’t wait to read that one too!
I tried reading The House of Leaves last year & that was a giant flop. 😂 Good luck!
I get interest over Under the whispering door 😆 the cover is so pretty.
I'm currently reading Something wicked...and the prose is very poetic, very descriptive, there are sentences like "Outside, a weather of stars ran clear in an ocean sky," this makes the reading slow paced, but I'm loving the whole atmosphere and the setting, and the spooky carnival has just arrived🎪🎭🎠🎡
I'd love to see a reading vlog for The Atlas Six as I'm planning to read it soon myself.
Other than that I'm curious about your thoughts on Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Dracula, House of Leaves and Under the Whispering Door!
The Deathless Girls and The Ravens for sure! I can't wait to hear your reviews :)
I would love to see The Witch haven and The Deathless Girls in a vlog. I have not heard anything about them but they sound amazing and would love to hear your thoughts! ❤
I've always wanted to read House of Leaves! The author's sister (Poe) made an album (Haunted) that compliments the book and it defined my life in 2001-2002 lol.
omg no way!! I will 100% check that out thank you!!
Legendborn, every time. Such a good book, i can't wait for the sequel.
I read Legendborn more recently and I’m dying waiting for the sequel! I’m determined to preorder it whenever it becomes available to order from my local bookstore. Definitely something to look forward to next year.
I feel like I’m the only one that wasn’t a huge fan!!!
Oh my goodness! So many books to choose from. You need to read Under the Whispering Door, for sure, Lexi. I'm listening to it, right now, and I love it. The other books that I picked are:
- Legendborn (I've been seeing this book, a lot, too. I keep thinking it's the sequel to Amari and the Night Brothers)
- The Ex Hex
- The Ravens - kind of makes me think of American Horror Story - Coven.
- The Witch Haven
- The Inheritance Games
- Something Wicked This Way Comes
- The Deadless Girls - I'm a sucker for Vampires. I may get that to read, myself.
- The Shining.
I would suggest a witchy vlog, seeing as you have quite a few witchy books.
The book I'm reading, when not listening to Under the Whispering Door, is She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan. It took about a chapter to get into, but I'm liking it, now.
Can't wait to see what you choose to read 😁📚
I have a book recommendation for you: please read 'Beasts and Beauty' by Soman Chainai.. Its a spooky Grimms and Hans Christian Anderson Fairytale retelling... There are like 12 stories and one of them involves a School for Good and Evil Series character.. I know you are a big fan of the School for Good and Evil and Fairytale re-telling so I would recommend it 😊
Oooo yes!! I’m currently reading it and I’m a little disappointed but it’s still good! And I love the school for good and evil!
Oh I really want to read that one actually!
i just started reading Legendborn this week, i’m loving it so far!!
Yay!!! We love to see it!
Oh my god I couldn't remember the term ergotic literature to save my life when I try explaining House of Leaves to people! I knew there was a specific term for it and could never find it again. Thank you so much, it was killing me lol!
Oh I'm glad I could help! Its a weird word so I feel you lol
You should read ‘John Dies at the End’ by David Wong. It’s a trilogy, but that’s the first in the series! It’s creepy horror but also the interactions between characters is hilarious at times to lighten the mood.
I read those books every year. They’re so gross and I truly feel like I shouldn’t like them but I do
@@lauradowsett662 they’re just SO good! So atmospheric.
You inspired me to go to Barnes and Noble I got the tote bags and 4 books. I felt good to support an actual store. I even stayed to have a cup of tea.
When it comes to The Shining, the book and the movie have very different endings. If you love the book and want to see something more faithful, find the miniseries that was done in the 90's. That being said, the movie is amazing.
I have quite a few books that you mentioned already on my TBR list and can’t wait to dive in. I’m currently reading The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires. I think it would be fun to lighten it up and do a themed vlog reading little kid Halloween books like the ghost who was a quilt
that's such a cute idea!!
I’m really interested in the witchy category, but I would also LOVE to hear your thoughts on The Atlas Six and Something Wicked this Way Comes!! Love your videos so much! Thank you for making them❤️
I'm so excited for you to read legendborn!
Lexi, I can’t tell you what to read (read TJ klune). You can read whatever you feel like reading (read TJ klune). I mean it’s fall season (read TJ klune), full of spooky vibes (read TJ klune). And you have so many wonderful books to chose from (read TJ klune)… I just hope you find another best book of the year (read TJ klune please 🥺)
🤣
Im currently reading Under The Whispering Door. And it is Amaaazing so far. ☕️
I'm so sorry but I would love to see you read The Shining and House of Leaves. I've read the Shining multiple times and every time it scares the besjeesus out of me. As for The House of Leaves, I'm planning on also reading it this month so it would be cool if you read that to. But I totally understand if you're not up for that. And it that case I vote for a witchy themed vlog! Witchy books, candles, witchy recipe and possibly a witches hat? 🧙♀️
I would also like to see a House of Leaves vlog - I'm planning on reading that this month too. If not, I'm also voting for witchy vlogs! 😊
I vote for Witch Haven. It’s on my bookshelf and I need to know if I need to move it up on my reading list!
My birthday was Monday and I got the Unbirthday, What Once Was Mine, and A Tale As Old As Time from the Twisted Tales series!! I’m so excited!
I would LOVE a focus on either Dark Academia or Horror... I have Atlas Six in my library and House of Leaves, a vlog on either one would be so much fun!
Dark Academia - I have these on my TBR too.
I think you would LOVE "The Lost Children" by Carolyn Cohagen. It's a super cute middle grade with touches of magic and whimsy. Our main protagonist Josephine is your quintessential bookish latchkey kid, who one day while doing a school gardening assignment, has to go to the one place she hates most... the garden shed. There she finds a mysterious boy who refuses to talk. After a series of events, Josephine fall through her shed into another and has to find her was out with the help of a few new friends.
Not sure if you’ve read these yet, but ‘Neverworld Wake’ and ‘Night Film’ by Marisha Pessl are great too.
Omg nightfilm is PERFECTION!
@@hannadavis6867 it’s SO good!
Dracula is one of my absolute favourites I think it is amazingly written and so gripping from start to finish
Oh my favourites picks were in the Gothic Classics category. Also need to finally read the og that is Dracula!!! 🧛🏻♂️🦇
Upon reflexion, I think I'd like to see one book from each category: The atlas six, The ex hex, The inheritance games Dracula, Under the whispering door, House of leaves. But you could also start by finishing last year's reading project given the next month of October is in over a year! 😂🎃👻
I’d like to see a vlog with classic horror/gothic. Dracula would be great. But the Ravens also sounds really cool.
I absolutely loved legendborn I also have the ex hex on my tbr so to is the witch haven
The ravens was really great
On my list this October:
- The Guest List (almost finished)
- Ninth House
- The Graveyard Book
- For Your Own Good
I'm going to say Atlas Six, House of Leaves, Jeckyll and Hyde (amazing story, read it in college), Under the Whispering Door, and The Inheritance Game. Love love love all your picks! I'm readying Small Spaces to my middle schoolers right night after your video about Dead Voices.
I'm LOVING your spooky TBR. I read The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides a few months ago, and just finished reading The Maidens (because of how you spoke about it). I'm SHOOK to my core, so good!!
I would love to see a gothic horror vlog with Dracula, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde etc!
You’re editing is so superior. It’s so aesthetic and pleasing to watch and listen to. The little added noises and transitions are stunning. Always blown away by your videos. Especially during the fall
aw thank you Katie! That means a lot❤️
The 71/2 Husbands of Evelyn Hardcastle is like Knives Out! 🍂🍁
To be honest I can't read rn, for months I struggle to read, tho I need an escape from my life so much. Just watching your videos make me a lot better, joyful and somehow you're the only reason I feel it's autumn( btw my fav season). Love you so much, thanks for amazing videos.
Oh, there are so many good books on your tbr! I read a few of them in my bachelor's and master's programs at university (Dracula, The Shining, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Something Wicked this Way comes - I had two classes about Gothic and Horror Fiction :D). I would love to see a vlog about House of Leaves or Something Wicked this Way comes!
Loving the Shelob's lair vibes!
I need to sell you on these two books, The Thursday Murder Club and The Man Who Died Twice! Cozy mystery vibes featuring 4 old folks at a retirement community. They were just SO charming, funny, wise, heartwarming, all with a good mystery at the core of the story. Also, foxes on the covers. 🦊
I would love a vlog with the Atlas Six, Under the Whispering Door, and House of Leaves. The Shining is one of my favorite books, its so good!
I'm currently reading house of leaves and under the whispering door at the same time! Would love to see you vlog those 2 and the shining.
*Tip! Read house of leaves with a buddy near by! I got freaked out and was thankful my cat and bf were next to me
I would love to see a dedicated vlog to House Of Leaves. I’ve heated that there are multiple Reddit threads discussing the best way to read this book and I’d love to know your experience and how you decided to read it 🎃
the house of leaves?? ok this book has me intrigued!
I'm half way through the ex hex and it's so fun, I think you're going to adore it!
You should read Dracula and the Deathless Girls! I’d love to watch that as a vlog!!
I ADORE Something Wicked. It's spooky, lyrical, so autumnal, and I love the carnival setting. Also I vote for the vlog to be horror. I'd love to see your reactions even if you end up DNFing! Plus, as you said, you could watch The Shining movie after.
Never clicked on a video so fast. 🥰
The Full Moon Series by Ellen Schreiber is an amazing teen fantasy romance. It follows a girl named Celeste who is in the popular girls group in high school and is dating the most popular guy in school. But then there is a new boy at school that Celeste is interested in, but then she finds out that the new boy is actually a werewolf.
My favorite book of all time is actually "Something Wicked this Way Comes" It's such a PERFECT October read. I even made myself wait 5 months to read it in the fall🍁🧡
I read Dracula as a sophomore and I loved it!!
the Ex Hex sounds sooo good and fun!!
All of these books sound so good for fall! I’ve read Under the Whispering Door and Amari and the Night Brothers, and I really enjoyed both of them.
I have a couple of the ones you mentioned on my tbr, and planning to add Witches Haven now too!!!
Quick question, where in the world did you get that mug because I'm obsessed!!!! 😁
I’m planning to read Not A Happy Family for the Knives Out vibes, too! It sounds perfect for October
Atlas Six is sooo good! I just finished it a few days ago. It was EVERYTHING I wanted for a dark academia fall read. 🍂
You have to read Keeper of the Lost cities for sure! I was in love with this series as soon as I started reading it.. and I’m very glad I did so. It is fantasy be adventure, also including romance. These books developed my love for reading and I’m very happy as I did so. Hyoid will definitely too. :)
Read Something Wicked This Way Comes! I just started reading it and I can't wait to get back to it every night. It has ALL the fall vibes!
Did you just steal my entire TBR? Legit.... we are reading all the same books 😳. So since we are reading the same books then I vote Atlas Six and Dracula. I read Under the Whispering Door and I LOVED IT. My horror read is the Cabin at the End of the World and Thriller the Kind Worth Killing.
I’d love to see a fantasy based reading blog. That would be so much fun. Fantasy is one of my favorite genres
Already congratulated you in the community tab but I'm gonna do it again cuz you deserve it👑
Lexi congrats on reaching 50k❤. You deserve everything👑. Love ya❤
And here's to100k🥂🥂😘
And I would love you to read Amari and The Night brothers.. It was a freaking amazing book for me and it automatically got a five star 😅
And ur mugs are so freaking cute.❤. I can't✨✨✨
The Shining is literally my favorite book ever! You will be SO scared!!! Enjoy!
I would love to see a vlog with Atlas Six, Amari and Under the whispering door . That could be called secret Magic socities
I really liked the Ravens and the inheritance game!
The synopsis of The Witch Haven gives me American Horror Story: Coven vibes, so that’s my pick! 🌚
Last month to start my spooky reading I read Riley Sager’s The Last Time I Lied and it was amazing. Not necessarily spooky but still really good.
I'm so glad it's finally October!! I've had Coraline on my reading list for such a long time, but I've been waiting till Halloween time to read it and now I finally can!! 😊👻👻🎃
Don't know if anybody did, but have you noticed that Lexy's outfit is color-coordinated with the cover over the sponsored book? I mean, if I was Disney, I would be proud.
And also, this is one of the reasons why I love your channel so much, that is the attention to detail. Now, back to the TBR!
Oooh I'm here for the dark academia and witchy vibes for a vlog! Not A Happy Family sounded so great, but ended up being a let down. Put that reading time toward something more exciting ❤
First of all- you’re going to love The Shining (I hope). Secondly, not a book you mentioned, but if you haven’t read any Riley Sager books - read Home Before Dark. I just finished it and it’s the perfect thriller for spooky season :)
I meant to read that one last year! Maybe I can squeeze it in!!
4:03, sat down for this video whilst I drink my chamomile tea.
Well of Ascension is my favorite mistborn book!
You will love Amari, hands down one of my new favorites this year! I read The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde last year and it was really good. It's definitely different, and it may not be for everyone, but I thought it was very well written.
The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson! There's mystery, it's a little creepy, a little amateur sleuthy, but set in a fantastic (slightly steampunk) world of magic. It is a stand alone novel and I love it so goddamn much. Sanderson has several fantastic standalones but this is my favorite by far. The magic is based on drawing with chalk and geometry. Chalk dusty magic classroom vibes!
Atlas Six, The Inheritance Games, Dracula, and Amari have my vote! 🍁
AAA I need this new video!!! Thank you Alexandra! 😍
I've been wanting to read the Atlas Six, so I'd love to see you read that one!! Though I also would love to see a witch books vlog; I've been wanting some more witchy books this fall so this would be fun to see :)
Ahh!!! Yes. I love this 😍😍😍😍
Jekyll and Hyde is one of my favorite books of all time!! I’m so excited to see you read it!
I just finished Horrid by Katrina Leno and LOVED it. Not sure what I’m reading next, but I want something spooky!
I would love for a vlog of you reading The inheritance games, All’s well and The ravens 👻🍁 A dark academia theme vlog would also be amazing, too. I’m going to read That weekend and Home before dark this Halloween. If you want more recommendations, Simone St. James and C.J. Tudor’s books have the perfect spooky vibes 🖤
I’d love to see a vlog of the inheritance games and the atlas six since I feel like both of them are getting so hyped right now!
You have to read The Shining along with the audiobook! I did that for class & it was Soo good! Also, the book is even better than the movie 😁 happy reading! ❤️
For middle grade The Night Gardener by Johnathon Auxivier Perfectly creepy, mysterious. Magical and sorta historical
I also have Dracula on my TBR this month. The book kinda intimidates me but I'm super excited to give it a go. Can't wait to see your review of Dracula. I've noticed we tend to have the same opinions about books. I've already read City of ghosts, don't tell a soul and now I'm on A Lesson in Vengeance. Loved the first two and currently loving the third.
The Ex Hex is on my TBR as well!
I plan on reading Cackle, my copy was just delivered (just came out October 5th!!), Practical Magic, and Frankenstein!
ive just finished ace of spade, super awesome my best read this year!!!
I would suggest reading books from the witchy category or whimsical. Happy readings! 📚
