- I'm venturing out of Gunpla to the land of Five Star Stories! Their designs have always caught my eye and I've finally caved in and got one in to try out!

This is awesome! I'm glad you got this kit. I totally it's next to impossible to get the actual kit and scalpers now charge way to much. Definitely looking forward to the work in progress and the finished build.
Although I'm primarily a Gundam fan, I'm very excited to see someone as talented as yourself venture into Five Star Stories.
I think you'll find it features a lot of great designs, my personal favorite being the monstrous Jagd Mirage.
I'm currently working on an official Volks Five Star Storries MM Engage SR3 resin kit its posable and its an older Moter Headd unlike the newer designs. My third resin kit. These newer Moter Headds are a bit weird for my liking I actually do prefer the older designs. But that's just my own opinion. One of my very first resin kits was a recast from e2046 based on the Empress from Workshop Cast a fixed posed kit. I do understand that not everyone can afford originals or have luck on their side to get it at a good price and a recast can be a good substitute for the original.
The zap is amazing :) have fun painting it
Have you seen the Jagd mirage? The 1/100 one would be really intimidating looking when built. Looking forward to your painting video of the ZAP!

Now just throwing this here for clarity, the original version of this resin kit was the remnants of volk's second ABSOMEC action figure (hence why it costed so much) but Z.A.P ABSOMEC was cancelled. As i now own Kaiserin ABSOMEC (no flex), I can see why, as those figures feel insanely fragile and structurally weak which mightn't have worked with Z.A.P's crazy and excessive design.
Now with regards to what gothicmades are, they are basically redesigns of motarr heads from five star stories in nagamo's new, developed art style. He retconned his original universe for this new aesthetic from what I can recall with what little research i did.
Z.A.P, is basically a new version of L.E.D Mirage and ngl I low key like Z.A.P more. Still love L.E.D tho!

Recast from SH Studio is cheaper but absolutely rubbish.

Some of them are really bad like the kshatriya and ground Gundam, but this one ain't bad
Their garage kit line definitely lacks proper quality control. But have you guys seen the quality of this recast? I have only seen photos before this video, and the quality looks pretty good based on JL’s video. SH Studio isn’t my choice of recaster, either. But given the original production was limited, a recast is likely the only way for me to own a copy, unfortunately. My recaster of choice is GHS for FSS kits. - Yes, I buy original casting from Volks as often as I can, and so far I have purchased three HSGK and SAV kits from them.

I understand where you're coming from, but if you can't even get the original kits what harm does this do?

True. But, but imagine someone reposting your video, removing your name and profiting/getting more views off of it. That would kinda suck. That's kinda my delima. No disrespect to you, though. The videos are well done. I just happen to be personally involved with the creators. That's usually not the case.
@@rsnumber2 That's a little different because video is not a limited source, potentially the entire world can watch it however many times people want to. These resin kits aren't.
It's like if I let my video be watchable for 10 days only then it's gone forever, then if I'm popular enough, someone is bound to have saved a copy and reposted it. There wouldn't be a demand to watch a reposted video had I not limited it. Does that make sense?
You realize the ZAP could only be bought through lottery and cost $1500 right? They're not hurting because of one recast
Really disappointed you're giving money to thieves. You can do better. Over the several lotteries, it was very accessible.
I know some people who entered and lost all 3 times. It's not as accessible as you think. If Volks actually wanted money for this they would've sold one to everyone who applied.
@@NetScourge must suck to be them. Volks wants to sell them. It's not just a matter of pressing a button. These are craftsmen projects and they take time and skill just to produce and they have a limited amount that can be made in a certain time.

@@JLGunplaUK not giving money to thieves? You aren't owed access to a product, especially something artisanal. It sucks they can only do a limited run on lottery but you only ensure it stays limited by promoting and buying illicit copies.
@@StirlingDuncan so the last sentence doesn't make sense. People buy copies because they can't buy the originals, not the other way around. If the original is readily available I would've bought it.
It's like if you wanna watch Gothicmade but the only way to do that is to pirate it because there's no genuine release for it, but then you say doing so is making sure they won't release it. How about just release it so people can buy?
