Mr. Thimira, I really appreciate your effort on videos and I learn a new pattern every day. English is critical these days and nobody can argue with that. People with good hearts like you do a fantastic role in polishing our younger generation's English knowledge. I'm a Blogger and we write for money and we earn money for our content. But you put your effort into videos and hardly earn a penny. No words to thank 🥺.

Excellent video Can you explain me the below grammar please The scenario is: The teacher and the pupil had a bit of an argument on yesterday which makes the student think that the teacher may have been in angry with him and today they both are in the class and student is still in the same impression. Pupil asks the teacher if she WAS angry for the yesterday argument, then she (teacher) replies " no, then I wouldn't let you come to the class " Meaning that teacher wanted to say that she didn't angry with him for the argument happened yesterday and if she did then she wouldn't let him in the class today.. When teacher replies; Is she supposed to say " Then I wouldn't let you come to the class " or then I wouldn't have let you come to the class ?? Which one is correct
I think both are possible here. "Then I wouldn't let you come to the class" is possible because the student is still in the class, when this conversation is going on. To talk about present unreal situations we can use the second conditional (Would). On the other hand since the letting in has already been done, one can argue that this now belongs to the past. To talk about past unreal situations we use the third conditional. (would + have). If the student asked the same question later after school or some other day, then the teacher would have to use " then I wouldn't have let you come to the class"
@@HariLesiEngreesi many thanks for the reply: Actually, the conversation is happening at the class room after the letting in has happened and the argument also belongs to past, so it speaks about the past... in fact student asked this question after finishing the class

come - present
Came - Past
Come -Past Participle
'Come' is the past participle of 'come'.

Can you explain me the below grammar please
The scenario is:
The teacher and the pupil had a bit of an argument on yesterday which makes the student think that the teacher may have been in angry with him and today they both are in the class and student is still in the same impression. Pupil asks the teacher if she WAS angry for the yesterday argument, then she (teacher) replies " no, then I wouldn't let you come to the class "
Meaning that teacher wanted to say that she didn't angry with him for the argument happened yesterday and if she did then she wouldn't let him in the class today..
When teacher replies;
Is she supposed to say " Then I wouldn't let you come to the class " or then I wouldn't have let you come to the class ??
Which one is correct
I think both are possible here. "Then I wouldn't let you come to the class" is possible because the student is still in the class, when this conversation is going on. To talk about present unreal situations we can use the second conditional (Would). On the other hand since the letting in has already been done, one can argue that this now belongs to the past. To talk about past unreal situations we use the third conditional. (would + have). If the student asked the same question later after school or some other day, then the teacher would have to use " then I wouldn't have let you come to the class"
@@HariLesiEngreesi many thanks for the reply:
Actually, the conversation is happening at the class room after the letting in has happened and the argument also belongs to past, so it speaks about the past... in fact student asked this question after finishing the class
Please reply on this as well please
Then the teacher should use the 3rd conditional. "Wouldn't have"
