BirdLife Malta shearwater boat trips 2024 (1)

Our biggest summer adventure is back again for 2024!
At the end of June we held our first two shearwater boat trips for this summer. A group of enthusiastic nature-lovers joined us for a delightful sunset sail by the dramatic and breathtaking Ta’ Ċenċ Cliffs in Gozo where we witnessed the little-known spectacle provided by flocks of Scopoli’s Shearwaters (Ċief) rafting on the surface of the sea before they head back to their nests in the cliffs after sundown.
This is one of Malta’s most spectacular natural phenomena and every year BirdLife Malta organises a number of trips for the general public to enjoy this spectacle of nature. This year we have five trips in all, with another tree trips coming up in July. All trips are fully-booked.
