Sir please make a video on interpositional arthroplasty. Please continue to make such videos as no oral surgery concept videos are there on UA-cam. Your videos are much needed!
you can suture temporalis flap to the zygomatic periosteum or posterior edge of the preauricular incision. you can use 3-0 /4-0 absorbable sutures such as vicryl.
Sir there is doubt that, in this procedure why we are not doing reconstruction with some graft material instead we choose to go with creation of gap of 1-1.5 CM?
Initially they are not used to interpose anything after gap arthroplasty. The main disadvantage of gap arthroplasty is reankylosis...To avoid that we are doing interpositional gap arthroplasty. Reconstruction with costochondral grafts can be done in growing patients...
kabans protocol is internationally accepted algorithm or guidelines to treat bony tmj ankylosis. condylectomy, gap arthtoplasty and interpositional gap arthroplasty are different treatment options available to treat. kabans protocol suggest interpositional gap arthroplasty for bony ankyllosis...
they differ in amount of bone resected..in condylectomy only condylar head is removed..in gap arthroplasty bone resection includes head, neck and part of subcondylar region also to get the gap of 1_ 1.5 cm

you can suture temporalis flap to the zygomatic periosteum or posterior edge of the preauricular incision. you can use 3-0 /4-0 absorbable sutures such as vicryl.

sir what is the difference between the kaban protocol and gap anthroplasty & interposition anthroplasty

Sir please make video on local anesthesia...
sure
Sir, why is interpositional arthroplasty done? Only to maintain the gap after the bone removal...?
to prevent reankylosis...
Okay thank you sir......your explanation is really good
And to maintain the ramus vertical height
Also to prevent anterior open bite
Sir in both condylectoms as well as gap artheroplasty we remove the condyle... Then what is the difference between both..?
they differ in amount of bone resected..in condylectomy only condylar head is removed..in gap arthroplasty bone resection includes head, neck and part of subcondylar region also to get the gap of 1_ 1.5 cm
