Hey Henrik, I just got myself the same lathe and I'm in the process of restoring it. I was wondering if you could give me some information on how to separate the two halves of the top slide. The gib is out, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the nut out of that hole in the bottom, or how to remove the lead screw (if that's possible)
Hi, congrats to your new lathe!
I dont remember in detail but as I recall there was a set screw to hold the nut in position. Do you have the manual with drawings?
@@henrikandren6967 I don't unfortunately :( I'm trying to get a hold of a copy. There is a threaded hole in the bottom of the nut, but there was no set screw in there hahaha i assume it was lost at some point. the whole nut moves freely in that big hole, but I can't seem to get it out far enough.

If you can leave yr email Ill send you a scanned copy.
Its been while since and I dont own the lathe any more but as i recall once the trapez screw is out youd use the threaded hole to pull it out.
@@henrikandren6967 I think my comment is getting deleted because it has my email in it :(
@@henrikandren6967 ok, i put it in my about section in my profile. Take that, youtube! hahaha
Fantastic work.
A little tip: If you use a slip gage under the indicator tip I'll average out the scraping for you over a small area. I use a wear block since I've got a few.
You´re very correct, It´s the best way and I do at times as well. However it´s one more thing to fiddle with so up to the point of nessecary I often do not.
