This can go very right or very wrong. One thing "Troll Hunter" had going for it was that there were multiple trolls of different characteristics. Here it is looks like there's just one troll, so it better kick ass.
Well, it's out in the sunlight....

Troll Hunter was a brilliant movie and very underrated for a low budget movie
In "Troll Hunter" the sunlight turned the trolls into stone which was according to the folklore but here the troll is running around the city in broad daylight.

Even better that Grieg was Norwegian, works brilliantly!
This definately sounds like a good "catastrophe movie/kaiju movie". But the fact is that using the folklore of Norway and Scandinavia in general makes it even better. There is no giant lizard with energy breath or 30m high gorilla coming from nowhere, the trolls comes from the tales and song of scandinavian culture. It's a dark story, but a great dark story. You must be joking
As a Norwegian myself, trolls are one of the most popular mythical beasts among Scandinavia. This feels very accurate to Norwegian mythology and almost feels like a Scandinavian legend. Yes in mythology the trolls were giant and lived in mountains, I love the adaptation of it not being ancient Norway and rather a way of how the modern world would deal with a giant monster. Reminds me of King Kong or Godzilla.
I love how the Dutch are always making movies about Dutch folklore.

Yeah, kind of makes sense don't you think? Grieg, Peer Gynt (a play about a troll king) and it's all norwegian.
They should also add the one from Savatage.
ok just watched it and I gotta say that this movie was pretty good.
the cgi is pretty solid for a norwegian movie, didnt expect that.
had tons of fun while watching this!
thx netflix
First Troll Hunter, then Thale, and now this.
I love you Norway. Never stop being Nordic!
Preserve our culture and mythology for us all.
Love from Sweden.
Omg I remember seeing the thumbnail of Thale so many years ago lol was pretty attracted to it but couldn’t remember the name of it after all these years
Thale?
Lol 😆 a Christian country 🤣. Which lost the culture asking to preserve culture. Even though I was not an Nordic I'm well versed in your historical facts than you. Norway just lost its culture . What is see is just a scrap papers...

1:10 oh mahn... This was unexpected 🔥🔥
the Troll is pissed at seeing so many foreigners in Norway
2:03 Looks like Kong Skull island
FINALLY the long awaited prequel to Troll 2
🤣
"They're eating her, and then they're going to eat me, oh my goooooodddddd"
1:16 forgot to fully key out the green screen in the helicopter! opps
Hope they make a part 2 of this movie, since it's the last movie I watched with my grandfather before he passed away from cancer. So this movie became memorable to me now.
Norway is absolutely killing it these days. I'm thinking about learning the language so I can enjoy the cinema even more than I already do...
there's something about the English translation on Netflix that's just bad. don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for it but you know when something just doesn't fit.
Lmao mental
what else they created good recently ? thanks
I have once spoken to a guy who was learning norwegian and he told me that it was actually aa easy language to learn (compared to other european languages)
@@saitamapunch8035 it's like spanish, with a simple sentence structure so I think it should be easy to learn. What's potentially challenging is the amount of dialects we have in Norway :D
Hope Netflix isnt trolling us with this and it actually turns out to be a good fun film to watch with the boys
trllllling
I love how Netflix has made it so normal to love international shows and language is no longer a barrier❤❤
❤❤This actually looks pretty good. It's keeping itself serious without making it look cheesy, and allowing some humor to balance it out.
Bro copied most liked comment 💀
"Hey Guys, what if we made "King Kong" but Norwegian!"
"David it's 4 in the morning..."
Norway am I going to miss this one. Looks good!
I just love movies/shows from other countries with different language, its like peeking into a different world.
C'est troll 👆
That little bit of "In the hall of the mountain king" playing with the soundtrack is so good.
I hope this film encourages people to watch more foreign films. It reminds me so much of the old school Godzilla films (with actual puppeteers and costumes). Short, fast paced films, with a message of human centrism in context to abusing nature typically. I would highly recommend watching the Godzilla movies from the Showa to Reiwa eras if you like this film. (my fav eras are Heisei and Millennium)
*Spoiler*
I think the dead baby Trolls in the castle are very interesting. In a sequel they should definetely add more to the background and maybe make more medieval scenes from when more trolls were alive and stuff. Like parallel to the modern world, have the medieval at the same time, and switch between the two
Please add ''SPOILER'' at the beginning of your comment. I haven't seen the movie yet, just came to watch the trailer.
After watching the first I would be shocked if there’s a sequel, it’s a terrible film.
Wait is there gonma be sequel?
@@saiaung7318 At the end of the movie, Andreas asks Nora if she thinks there are more trolls somewhere in the mountain, and then - after the short ending credits - there is a scene that suggests there is at least one more troll in the tunnel where the mountain king was awoken. So they definitely left themselves the option for some kind of sequel. Nora could follow in her father's footsteps and become a new expert on folklore, Kris could adapt the military to this new reality, and Andreas could write a book about their adventure! :D
@@krustydustietv2776 just dont read than man
2 things, one I love that they use the hall of the mountain king as the background music, second this actually reminds me a lot of the first American Godzilla movie from the 90s, a giant unknown creature appears and they bring in a scientist who ends up standing in a giant footprint
the best part of the movie for me was the amazing job they did with the sound of the troll
Finaly the truth is out its not yust movie its truth !!!!!!!!!!!
I just watched this movie today and i really enjoyed it, so much better then i expected, fx were great, was well cast, it had incredible action and a lot of heart. Thrilling throughout, never let up and even though it was a monster action flick the humans unlike Godzilla v Kong or Transformer movies didnt feel like side characters....It was obviously not made on a budget near as big as the movies i mentioned but this was unimportant as it was far more enjoyable. If it was a movie in english on a big studio budget it would of been talked about more which is a stigma that unfortunately makes the casual viewer avoid...Everyone should watch this as it so good, fun but also pulls at the heartstrings..Well done Netflix..Thumbs Up👍
nah its just godzilla
You have worst movie taste
Check out TROLL HUNTER the other movie
Please. Please let this be amazing and give the push for Trollhunter 2 to get made. I absolutely love Scandinavian folklore.
Lmao I thought this WAS the sequel at first, kinda annoying it isn’t…
@@justyouravgmegalonTrolljegeren is a masterpiece. This is not the sequel, if it was, it would be a disgrace.
It looks cool but nothing will top: Troll 2 (1990).
Truly one of the finest movie of all time.
I've been waiting for this! I LOVE movies that are centered around mythical creatures, and their folklore. I can't wait!
You probably know of Trollhunter.
But what if I also told you there's two other Norse monster movies.
Ragnarok (2013) and The Ritual (2017).
You're welcome.
I've heard of Ragnarok, and I still have to watch The Ritual. What's Ragnarok about?
