I believe Pikachu and Mimikyu would be rivals because in the anime Mimikyu hates Pikachu and doesn't listen to Team Rocket whenever it sees Pikachu. Magmar would be rivals with Electabuzz, I'm pretty sure you know why.

Day 3 of asking L8 Games to do an Island series where you can find all of your previous roleplay series pokemon and every episode you catch a team of six and fight, it would be really interesting being able to see the new combinations and the old nostalgia
I think you guys should consider predator prey dynamics rivals since outside the legendaries there are only a handful of confirmed rival pokemon I don’t think people will dislike you guys taking liberties with what’s a “rivalry”. Mimkyu and Pikachu are also a good one

in alola pokedex entry heracross states its biggest rival is vikavolt, Fletching and squakibily have once had teritorial disputes scolopide and centiscorch who ever wins gets to eat the OTHER same for grappoloct and golisopod Tyranitar and bakscalibur fight for the galar mountains Primape in Paldea fights for berries with ursaring and noisy hawlucha toxapex and bruxish for warm oceon currents hope this helped

Back again suggesting a roleplay series where they are gym leader start out as the first gym useing a specific type only and they need to battle challengers everyday for money to upgrade there gym and needing to beat the next gym leader to take there place/rank ultimately becoming a member of the elite four or champion with there being a evil team trying to stop you being run by the champion to keep order in the system. This is obviously inspired by the the pokemon fan game where your a gym leader. They could you the game as a outline for the story but just a idea
