This trip crosses Brick Township going from west to east and it crosses the bridge on County Route 528 which was rebuilt after Hurricane Sandy at the end of October 2012. Brick Township is fairly large in size and as a result it is not densely populated although the population is greater than 70,000. At approximately 7:20 the trip turns southward onto NJ 35 and at approximately 8:50 NJ 35 splits into a one way road going southbound and a one way road going northbound. The northbound side is closest to the ocean and the southbound side is closest to the bay. This configuration was built in the middle to late 1970s to improve traffic flow. Many of the homes seen along NJ 35 were either replaced or rebuilt after Hurricane Sandy. Some of the worst destruction from Hurricane Sandy was in this section of Ocean County. Unfortunately it did take several years for some of the homeowners to receive their payments from the insurance companies so that they could rebuild. Quite a few of the rebuilt homes were raised so that there would be less damage from flooding and I believe that the insurance companies encouraged the homeowners to do so. Many of these homes are seasonal homes but there are also year round homes whose residents live there year round. The trip ends on Central Avenue at the north end of Seaside Heights.
