Wrong, Harley continued making carbureted motorcycles through 2006 with no cats. Kudos to Uncle Tony for raising the level of discourse on automotive channels. I also give props to Cold War Motors in this respect. But the political drift is accelerating and threatening to overthrow everything in our world, including any ability or inclination to do one's own work, which would lead to one being unable to decide where and how he makes his money. You guys really didn't touch on that, but the destruction of self-directed skill sets is part of the plan to completely subjugate humanity. From my standpoint, Harley-Davidsons made their fame through biker gangs of the '60s and '70s. Where I grew up, the Warlocks and the Pagans battled it out on the roads for supremacy, and as a result, I associate Harleys with outlaws. Civilians rode Suzukis, Kawasakis and Hondas. But it was sort of a romantic thuggery that meant danger, not corporate boardroom thuggery that characterizes the typical rider today. By day, an accountant. On weekends, an overweight wannabe going to restaurants on a tricked-out hog, wearing Harley clothes. To me, this is where Harley went wrong - - when it expanded the brand to the genteel middle class. From there, it was inevitable that the sensibilities of the brand would track those of its customers. Another argument that can be made about where our society went wrong was when everybody started getting paid too much for what they did, which continues apace today - - think of all the people that "work" from home for big salaries. They are bought off and follow the corporate "leadership," which enables them to possess unnecessary things like motorcycles they hardly ever drive, and Tesla's that show off that they can afford a symbolic vehicle that doesn't really serve them as it should. These people consent to the tyranny of corporate boardrooms in exchange for what we know from the song as "money for nothing." I do happen to agree that "women's liberation" was the model for all the splinter movements that we have seen since then. It really wasn't the racial strife. It was the false idea that "you can have it all." You can, but you only have two hands and you're going to lose the things that you don't hold on to dearly, such as how you raise your family and so forth. DEI is really legalized discrimination, which we were taught is to be deplored. In reality, it should be thought of as Discrimination, Elitism and Intolerance.
Owned Harley's all my life I've always been the love my bike hate the company. I don't buy the t shirts I do my own maintenance and wrench on my bike. I don't give them a dime unless I have no other choice. They have stepped way over the line and have to fix this fast.

I have a friend that bought a ten year old Harley-Davidson and the local dealership wont work on it. They told him that if its a decade old or older its done as far as they are concerned. That is beyound insane!!!!
That's really not new, many car/truck dealers do the samething. If the vehicle is over ten years old they won't touch it as for repairs. Various reasons and factors for their logic. One maybe is that they are usually high mileage units and it's not cost effective to repair, another maybe that they may not have an employee who has the working knowledge to do the repairs and of course parts availability. The brightside is that there are plenty of aftermarket/independent shops that would be very happy to work on it.
Try finding a shop that will work on anything with a carb or a 2-stroke, if the "mechanic" can't hook it up to his cell phone, then they surely couldn't diagnose or fix it......
Hats off to both of you. Here in the UK, we don't wave to other riders, we nod our heads kind of diagonally. I ride Harleys as it is the only motorcycle that resonates with me, and I'm not even American. I'm Brazilian, but when I buy something American, I expect it to be made in America.

I bought a new S&S Super E with the improved intake manifold so no more leaking intake seals and it runs much better drivability wise and performance wise that I put on my 86 HD FLHT that I bought brand new. When buying the S&S they recommend buying the Pingle high flowing pet cock for the gas tank because S&S feels the stock pet cock will starve the engine of fuel once the S&S carburetor is put on it .
lmao look harder because the CV40 is definitely still available new from Harley. Also, your bike is over 3 decades old. It's not like can go to a Chevy dealer and order a new intake manifold for an LT1 C4 Corvette either.
Harley Davidson made it's first big mistake by eliminating Buell from the company. The Buell Blast was an inexpensive, entry level bike that was a great way to get new rider's into the fold and create a new market for the rest of the world who are never going to be interested in cruiser type motorcycles. But a 500ci single cylinder machine can make the cut in that overseas market. And if they want to make an electric Harley? Fine, most manufacturers are. But with a single cylinder gas motor they can also make a hybrid.
Can we quote someone that didn't set the precedent for lockdown by executive order, gun law by executive order and maga jabs? There's more to the constitution than the first two amendments.

Motorcycles in the US are TOYS and no one is forced to buy them. HD is not the company it was and the people it chose to insult have a great variety of options. The Japanese firms Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha never insulted their customers let alone advocacted for third-party access to their customers children. I support independent American mechanics who keep ALL brands going long after their parent companies abandon them. No needs the Motor Company any more.
Yesterday I saw a news station in Milwaukee report that Harley is going to have all it's "power trains" built I think in Thailand for the 2025 model year, all the employees say they see the writing on the wall and they are worried. My thoughts would be for the current owners to completely destroy Harley and sell it off to someone that knows how to run it, just like happened in 1982.
That supposedly is supposed to be for the smaller bikes they make now from what I hear but I did see that the workers are worried that they will loose their jobs and be replaced because they had seen this before they said .
Since the new ceo took over stocks went from 75$ to 36$ meaning stock holders lost money. And with the "Brands" choices they won't help stock prices. Look at Germany today as they get rid of Mosques. The window has closed. There is no winning back customers. Not with Harley's direction today. The dealers suck. They don't work on Harley's older than 10 years. Yet again turning backs on customers.
There’s one thing you’re neglecting to take into account, many of these people are true believers and are willing to take a financial loss. Remember the ends justifies the means, it’s the most important thing to communism.
People keep asking why? Thinking it's about money, and how they'll lose it. It's not about money though. It's about the destruction of American culture. Been commenting this on various videos about this.
All I want from Harley is an online parts ordering that has every part for my 20 plus year old bike available. I would expect that some parts might be a bit more expensive, and I would be willing to pay a premium if I have to, as long as it doesn't get into real crazy kind of money. That's about all I want from Harley, that, and maybe a Harley jacket that only says Harley Davidson on an inside label or something.
@16:44 To y is correct. I have three bikes, one is a Royal Enfield. Great bike, and replace parts are cheap. Replaced a license plate light unit- twenty bucks. Triumph has made great bikes for a long time. I also have an HD. Turn signal assembly- 200 dollars.
I heard Harley was shutting down the Milwaukee factory and moving production overseas???????? Sad if that's true. If I buy another Harley at my age, I'll buy a used Dyna or FXR. I will not pay all that money for a new bike that cannot be modified and costs me another mortgage refi.
There are countless ways to answer to that, but I'll give you the simplest. Research the Organic Act of 1871...understand exactly what its implications mean, and then go forward from there.
@UncleTonysGarage Except the powers that brought the Organic Act of 1871 are the same powers heading the WEF...the world bankers. So no....there is no level above the bankers.

These companies are hilarious, they look at 1 cost line and not total, they right other cost off so dividends aren't what they should be. Polaris moved to Mexico in early 2000's, they paid millions of dollars on ransom insurance to Mexico, Thailand has guerilla actions going on, most cheap oil filters are made there, a reason for shortages, they pay tansom to get trucks thru. Another thing, some of the people in Wisconsin have voted for politicians that embrace over regulations and taxes of Americans products.
I was making parts for the Polaris Victory motorcycle and this was when they were still in MN and these parts I made from Die casting were used for the R&D teams to put the engines together then run them hard for hours on end to try and break them to make better parts for them before actual production runs to build the engines for the bikes and this was maybe 2 years before you mentioned that they moved . A lot of people who bought the Victory motorcycles were pissed at Polaris for buying the Indian name then phased out the Victory motorcycles in favor of the new Indian motorcycles that Polaris was starting to build .
I bought a new Royal Enfield Classic 350 last month. I have had 2 electra glides in the past and one 1200 sportster. The Royal Enfield brings me back to when I bought my first bike in 1963, all smiles when I get on it and ride. Bye, bye HD, it was fun while it lasted. Now I can buy accessories and parts for my Enfield without needing to get a home equity loan. lol

I want Taco Tuesday bikes made by Americans cheap for the masses. Not Harley selling less bikes at higher prices and make more profits off them. That's a recipe for failure. Loosing sales while selling less bikes hurts more. I actually liked the revolution 76 engines. Almost same power as engines twice as large. Starbuck does not have the strategy to actually change DEI: ua-cam.com/video/oWM0qtE6eAA/v-deo.html But more so, this is the first time he has spoken about greatness, and that he is not trying to destroy HD. It comes too late. Only yesterday he applauded and celebrated the destruction of a Willie G era Harley. He said that destruction was the “most american thing possible.” I agree with him on DEI, but he is misleading his audience. Example: in the process of criticizing Halrey justly for DEI, he said Indian was not. That is a lie. Indian removed its colorized logo for DEI reasons. Are they going to bring it back? NOPE. And Starbuck does not care, when there is a political point and example to make. I have the corporate memo banning the colorized logo. For pointthis out, Starbuck blocked UnWoke Harley Respecter on X. Tony: you comment about Harley speaking to the soul was spot on. Older Harleys speak to the human soul, but Starbuck completely missed your point, and spoke about the Harley soul….that is not what you meant. Starbuck does not understand deep points like you were making. His DEI opposition is agreeable, but his strategy will end up harming Harley more than helping return it to greatness, because his only plan is destruction. SAD! His market analysis is abysmal. He takes credit for tanking Deere and Harley stock, but go look at it today: they have gained back those losses and more since he claimed to be the reason for their downfall. There is something suspicous to me about people who claim they are solely responsible for something espcially when that “win” is short lived by only days. There has to be a better way because other than DEI Harley has nothing that Starbuck can fix.
Harley has already started having quality issues - there are several cases of customers finding metal shavings in the engines of their newer bikes in the past few years.
That's because the twin cam engine use a timing chain & the timing chain tensioners we're having issues of wearing out then the cam chain runs on the metal part of the chain tensioners. Usually what happens is once the plastic chain tensioner pads start to wear out little chunks of plastic get sucked into the oil pump and then the pump locks up and the engine is running with no oil pressure for just long enough to damage the engine specifically the piston and rings get scuffed & the crank bearings and rod pin in the flywheel get damaged and causes the engine to lock up . This all can be upgraded & it should be done before the warranty is up by either buying the HD screaming eagle upgrade kit or by buying the S&S stuff which I feel is much better quality than the HD screaming eagle stuff .
Globally, they are a niche brand, and that's a bad place to be. Look at all the niche (and even not so niche) car manufacturers that have either folded or are clinging to life.
Harley Davidson went down hill when they built the twin cam motor... 1999 and earlier are the last of the great machines in my opinion. especially the FXR Evo was the life saver of the cooperation

In reality, it should be thought of as Discrimination, Elitism and Intolerance.
and in this you are far more articulate than Starbuck and know the community better. Harley has nothing other than DEI that Starbuck can fix.

That supposedly is supposed to be for the smaller bikes they make now from what I hear but I did see that the workers are worried that they will loose their jobs and be replaced because they had seen this before they said .

This is amazing and this type of content is 100% Yes. Please continue.
Thanks for always doing your best UT
