    I have a 2014 Sportsman 570 EFI/EPS and I had the same belt drive water problem. I took mine apart after Polaris said (if your butts not wet, your not getting water in it.), took belt cover off, seal looked good. Then I took the belt and clutchs off. I removed the back cover that bolts to the motor that hold the front cover on, and found that Polaris DID NOT PUT A SEAL OR SILICONE ON THE BACK COVER against the motor. That's where the water was getting sucked in. I put HI TEMP COPPER GASKET MAKER on it, put it back together and no more problems, and I ride the West VA Outlaw Trails and the Hatfield and McCoy Trails too.

    Round pipe flows more than square, less friction and drag. Have you ever tried a PVC heater blanket? Electricians use them to put bends in PVC and they are pretty reasonable. Might even be able to oval out PVC where needed.

  • @coletrain32550

    The reason it started running bad is because these 570s run bad underwater stock. The reason that is is because the air intake is right above the exhaust so it sucks in steam and bogs down. Mine had that issue and I snorkeled it and it runs perfect underwater. I added a snorkel it (go deep kit) and it added more power for some reason. I guess it gives it more airflow.and the belt box has to be sealed from the back. Polaris doesn't seal them worth a crap. I have a 570 and love it

  • @NotJustAnotherCody
    @NotJustAnotherCody 6 років тому +3

    You are correct have to pull clutch and seal back of the box and it's going into limp mode and the power steering on these bikes are super sensitive I had to have my replaced the throttle has wire coming out of it they couldn't figure it out at the dealer (I think they called it a run away switch its some kinda safety in Case the throttle got stuck wide open why you couldn't just kill it if that happened Idk lol) why it kept going into limp mode that wire had bad connection in it somewhere if you wiggle it it will stop you can also drive it in low range at I think @3500 rpms for 30 seconds it will reset it self but I think your fuse box may have gotten water In it you had your way deeper than I was capable of while stock without a wet rubberband

    Honestly what’s the best 500 series 4 wheeler for the money. I sold my rincon. And now I’m looking at 500s I like the rubicon 520 foot shift. I like the canam 570 and I like the sportsman 570. Trail riding ranch work and mud is all I do. I want power and comfort and unlike the locking diff up front with dps.

    • @MudPuppyOffroad
      @MudPuppyOffroad 3 роки тому

      You are so wrong on so many levels. The electrical system is crap The belt drive is not sealed very hard to snorkel properly and maintain adequate belt flow. The front differential will wear out eventually there are no gears in the differential just one way bearings. it's biggest problem performance wise is that the engine is too far back so it's weight distribution is appalling

    I’ve got a built 88 300 and I love it in the mud. But it’s a 88 300 it’s not a trail bike it’s purely a mud bike.
    But I wanna cheap ride like the 570 because there’s no way I can justify a $12k canam or Polaris 1000 or 850.
    If this same bike had a clutch kit, snorkel, and 31s inch outlaws, will it turn them and perform with them good enough in the mud to where you’re not going to stick every 10 minutes.
    I mean when you’re in the mud on this bike with big tires and you punch it, do you feel it.
    I don’t need the power of a 1000 or 850 but I would like something with enough pep to get you in and out of swamps and clay and also be able to ride trails.

  • @chrisrambo6810

    Great video! I think once you properly snorkel it and put a clutch lot in it seal and upgrade the belt it will be a solid machine and round pipe flows 10 times better than square 2in pipe will allow it to breathe better

    • @MudPuppyOffroad
      @MudPuppyOffroad 6 років тому +1

      Not necessarily the air flow fluctuates between turbulent and laminar no much with the changing rpms that the pipe size is way more relevant than the shape. If a small round pipe had less lead loss than a large square one polaris would have used it

    Change out the exhaust, or do the exhaust mod. The factory muffler is so restrictive that when you submerge the quad it doesn't breath enough to idle correctly, and then when that happens the check engine light will pop up. Happened to me many times, also the quad has alot of sensor that monitor various items on the quad, and they dont like to get wet lolol. 20,000miles on my 07 sportsman and she is still going strong.

    Give it a chance. I have and i've been impressed with the bang for your buck. Yes, it has flaws but what company don't? I'm a Honda guy through and through and I can admit some from them. I've had my 570 for 2 years now and been pretty surprised with it so far. I've heard tons of Polaris horror stories. I'm running a clutch kit which helps but not a overwhelming difference. I'm also with running the OG 29.5 outlaws. Its struggles sometimes in down right nasty shit but spins the tires pretty well. I say 27-28 is the sweet spot. I'm letting it go for a scrambler 850 soon though.

      No not really but over time it would because it will stress out your clutches. If I can remember right they come stock with 25s. I went with 29.5 without a clutch kit first and felt a bit sluggish. Added a clutch kit and got that "snappiness" back. I would love to throw the stocks on with the clutch kit and see the difference but I don't have them anymore.

    • @moose1164
      @moose1164 6 років тому +1

Brute Force is probably the most flawed bike on the market to date.A dont wanna write out a paragraph but they have countless amount of issues. Its super rare to see an un-bored Brute Force. What do you think about the renegade xmr 570

    • @MudPuppyOffroad
      @MudPuppyOffroad 6 років тому

      Is the exact same bike as the xmr 570 outlander which is the exact same bike as the 570l. Only difference is shocks and plastics. They are all geared way too high for any serious or thick mud riding. Will need an aftermarket cluch setup to do decent

    • @MudPuppyOffroad
      @MudPuppyOffroad 6 років тому

      The sportsman 570 is geared about 20% lower
