the supremacy of vedanta ,the Non-Dualism is wonderfully explained by swami sarvapriyananda. The warning that one need not always cite the modern scientific theories to defend vedanta in view of the fact that scientific conclusions are subject to change, is excellently explained by swamiji. A very nice discourse . Our humble prostrations

I wish I had been introduced to vedanta when I was younger. Swamiji did mention that a mature soul seeks vedanta. Would it make the same impression on someone who is younger? Like a teenager or those in their 20s who are still exploring their senses? I consider myself very previledged for having Swamiji share these pearls with those who can receive these in the comfort of their homes.🙏🙏🙏

    Namaste..
    My mananam -
Why avarana Shakti is more critical than vikshepa Shakti - Jnana removes the ajnana avaranam and brahman is revealed. If the vikshepa continues, what is my problem, I am untouched by the vikshepa, or it is just a game or festival or leela.
Power of maya, cobra. In another context Swami has explained with great clarity - Isvara = maya upahitam chaitanyam is wielder of mayashakti, jiva = avidya upahitam chaitanyam is sufferer of mayashakti. Maya is the cosmic ajnana, and avidya is the individual ajnana.
Brahman is like a vast spread of cloth. Where there is a wrinkle, the cloth seems limited by the wrinkle, the wrinkle feels I am the wrinkle not the cloth. But Vedanta points out to the wrinkle that it is nothing but the cloth. Thus the wrinkle realizes it is the cloth which is one without a second, because all the wrinkles seen around is nothing but the cloth. I always was is and will be cloth, but due to the wrinkle, I feel I am the wrinkle. Thus the wrinkle becomes the jivanmukta. When the wrinkle is straightened out, the wrinkle disappears, and it is a small event of small consequence when I become videha mukta.
Please correct me at the errors.

Dear Swami Ji, while doing some reading, I came across the following verse regarding which I have a couple of questions. I hope you'll be able to help:
"This supreme self cannot be realised, O Rama*, by means other than wisdom-not indeed by exerting oneself in religious practices. This self is neither far nor near; it
is not inaccessible nor is it in distant places: it is what in oneself appears to be the experience of bliss, and is therefore realised in oneself."
Q1) What does "wisdom", in the first sentence mean, in this particular context?
Q2) Is "Bliss" the only way of knowing the "Self", or are there numerous other ways? And is it because it's the outermost sheath?
What I'm trying to know is that if one is experiencing immense joy and contentment during meditation, or at a certain turn while driving the car, does that mean he/she had a glimpse, to a certain degree, into the nature of "self?"
    Thanking you in advance

swamiji listening introduction of Vedanta part 5 I have a question_
if I am the Brahman then is the web of Maya and the two powers of Maya the vailing and projecting belong actually to the me really?

    • @maniksharma370
      @maniksharma370 7 років тому +7

as explained by Swami, Maya is the power that resides in the Brahman that projects Brahman itself as the universe and Swami further added that they both are same, they can't be separated ontologically like fire and it's nature to illumine and burn, they can't be separated.
I hope this answers your question

Why saints needs to travel before they attain the enlightenment. For example, Adi Shankracharya, Raman Maharishi, Gautam Buddha, Neem Karoli baba, Ganeshpuri Baba Nityanand, Baba Muktananda, Rang Avadhoot and many more...
All this travel to gain knowledge/ experience about life?
    Or it is destined?
Even we heared about the truth shared by Adi Shankracharya i.e. Aham brahmasmi but still the great followers travel and search.
    Why?
Every time great Siddha's Yogi's travelled from North to south..to other countries as well..even they knew that God Dwells inside...
I am just curious to know about this cycle or pattern of travelling and searching...and at the end...we find a Guru who share the treasure that God Dwells inside only.

It is said, ramta sadhu bahata nodi does not collect dirt. May be that can be one reason. Besides Shankaracharya travelled before his guru and after gaining knowledge. Moreover what else they can do? Having no desire of their own they just roam about spreading goodness all around
