    It must hurt like a fucker to get pelted in the leg or stomach with one of those balls. I have mad respect for lacrosse players even though I never played myself. The hockey of the grass.

    • @lil-burrito
      @lil-burrito 2 роки тому

      It does. Been playing goalie for 5years, but you get used to it. Still hurts tho. Getting hit in the nuts feels like dying

  • @Olibuu

    Looking at the video I’m noticing most of these saves are mostly predictions and cat like reflexes. Great video nether-less! Wish goalies were more recognized and could wear more protection to be safe.

    • @user-km4gg5pp8m
      @user-km4gg5pp8m  5 років тому

      GG August being a lax goalie as soon you predict where the ball will go you screw your self . The more gear you wear the harder it is to move and you need to move on a dime

    • @Olibuu
      @Olibuu 5 років тому +1

      Goalie Clips understandable. I currently play for a high school right now and I honestly tend to move to the ball more when I have shin guards. But I don’t really sacrifice much speed cause I’m a bigger guy so I can use my body and stick.

    • @user-km4gg5pp8m
      @user-km4gg5pp8m  5 років тому

      GG August coming from Australia we like to look tough so the less padding the tougher. But that’s the market at the moment trying to get protection that does weigh to much as it burns easy movement which is valuable

    • @lilwillls8752
      @lilwillls8752 5 років тому

      If you play long enough the ball won’t hurt after a while and I found that the more pads I wore the more afraid I was because it gave me a false sense feeling like it wouldn’t hurt

    • @lil-burrito
      @lil-burrito 2 роки тому

      Goalies are the toughest on the field. Some goalies don’t even wear chest protector

      you got to work on your ark and stance those are the two most important things by far

    • @dduckky3159
      @dduckky3159 5 років тому

      チャカチャカ also practice stepping towards the ball and just find a wall and throw a lacrosse ball at it and catch it with the opposite hand than you threw it with to practice hand eye coordination

    I’ve been playing goalie for 3 days and it seems like every time the ball gets shot my eyes close or it’s like my eyes go in the complete opposite direction. Any tips?

    • @user-km4gg5pp8m
      @user-km4gg5pp8m  5 років тому +1

      LiquidLyrics sure 1. Have confidence in yourself you can do this. 2. Make sure your stance good. 3. Watch the shooters stick and track that ball like an Eagle 🦅. Usually you have a idea or a “book” on a player meaning where the normal shoot this doesn’t mean to go move to that place before they shoot it means have it in the back of your mind. 4 If you just watch the ball it doesn’t actually come at you that fast so just watch the ball.
      Let me know how ya go 👍

      I just started goalie about 5 weeks ago and I had the same problem so what I did was I sat in cage with hockey pads and had my friends throw balls at my as fast as they could without my stick

      I recommend using tennis balls to train so you are not scared of it

    • @beccamullinix08
      @beccamullinix08 5 років тому

      Yeah, this tip has helped me a lot. If you take time to breathe and THINK about yourself saving a shot you can calm your nerves and focus on stopping the ball. If you tell your mine something, your body will do it. This will “slow down the play” which makes the ball seem like it is shot in slow-motion. This is key in saving shots, since it gets you focused on the ball. Also, try to watch the ball.
      Hope this helps!

    • @lil-burrito
      @lil-burrito 2 роки тому +1

      Trust me you’ll get used to it. Once you play it for a while it’ll be like it’s in slow mo. Been playing goalie for 5years. Trust me.

      It’s kinda hard to compare because men’s and women’s lacrosse are completely different sports. Men’s lacrosse you see a lot more shots cranked from outside the eight or in the twelve, and a ton more crease cranks. Women’s lacrosse the vast majority of shots are in the eight and are usually lots of fakes/finesse shots instead of power shots or they land a crap ton of penalty shots (penalty shots are maybe the most unfair thing about women’s lacrosse because 8/10 times it is an ez point, lots of girls know this and take advantage by pumping fake shots in the eight so the defense gets a penalty and the shooter gets a penalty shot and practically free point 🙄)
