  • This tutorial will show you how to crochet a cute baby bonnet / hat with heart detailing. This tutorial is suitable for beginners.
    For size 0 - 6 months use a 4mm crochet hook
    For size 6 - 12 months use a 4.5mm crochet hook
    For my bonnet I used a 4mm crochet hook and Drops Muskat yarn (DK weight) in the colour Powder Pink Please use DK weight yarn in order to get the correct size.

    i Made this last night using a 3 weight yarn aka Sport and Baby weight and a 4.0 mm hook. It is too big for a new born. I think it would fit a 6 month old. So I'm Trying again with a 3 mm hook maybe a 3.5 I did make the tie strings with a 3.5 and they look more fitting.. I'll find out and amend this to tell you what hook worked best for a newborn. My first G-Granddaughter was born 2 weeks ago. this will be her valentine's day bonnet. I made her a dress. and a cardi.. yes both are too big. Need at least one item to fit her. She is so tiny.
    not a premie. Just didn't expect such a small girl. Perfect instructions I love your patterns.

    Wonderful. I made this in about am hour following your tutorial. My tension must be sooooo loose though as the 0-6 months looks like it could fit a 4 yr old haha, im so rubbish lol. Going down a few hook sizes to see if i can get it truer to size. Could this be done in HDC to help make it even smaller?

    • @woolywonderscrochet7586
      @woolywonderscrochet7586  5 років тому

      That's great! Yes try going down hook size if your tension is looser x

    I’m in USA and not familiar with the yarn you use in your projects. Being a beginner to crochet I don’t know the substitutes I should use or yarn type (DK). Can you help me?

    • @boogerhugs9603
      @boogerhugs9603 6 років тому +1

      Brenda Jackson ..I’m in the US. You can find Bernat baby sport yarn at your local Wal-Mart..this is what I used for my bonnet. You can actually use about any yarn that takes a 3.25 or 4 hook (for newborn-3months). Hope this helps..feel free to look me up on FB and send private messages if you should have any questions or need help. Happy crocheting!

    So I’m using 4 weight yarn and 4.0;mm hook and the stitches are exact count and this hat is huge , trying to make 0-6 months. Helppppp plzzzzz

      Mary Licon it’s the yarn weight throwing you off. She is using a dk weight. Which would be thinner than a 4.

    • @Floweroftheprairie2720
      @Floweroftheprairie2720 2 роки тому

      Dk yarn is the size. Dk stands for double knit. It’s a size 2 or 3 depending on the brand. It’s usually a sport weight or baby weight yarn. The instructions are for sale in her Etsy shop. Hope that helps some.
