Really enjoying learning some of the shortcuts you use with procreate!! I've been playing with it for a few weeks for this very purpose, but haven't learned many basic maneuvers. The one thing I did discover that is super useful for trying out many different pattern mixing combos easily is "clipping masks". Thanks for this video!!
Oh yes! The masks are great! I love using them when I’m drawing. I’m kind of a beginner but I’m not sure how I’d use a clipping mask for a photo. I’m definitely going to investigate further!
Saremy, I just "found you" yesterday, listening to the Love to Sew podcast. AND I just got an ipad Pro with Procreate and this is something I hadn't even thought about Procreate doing for me - and something I spend way too much time thinking and re-thinking: "This pattern with this fabric? No, this fabric. No, this pattern." This was the first video I saw on your youtube feed, and you have no idea how thrilled I am. It's an amazing idea, thank you for passing it along! BTW, I think you have lived my dream, and now I'm a little older and decided it may be a little late to get into fashion school and the industry, but I do love hearing from someone who did. Thanks, I'll be around!
I have searched for this video the whole sunday and finally i found it again!!!! i am soooo over the moon. 🥳🥳🥳i was thinking about colorblocking a top with two fabrics from my stash but was not sure about it but then i remembered this amazing tutorial that I watched some time ago that showed how to mock up fabrics on linedrawings of sewing patterns, but i really could not remember the channel where i saw it on. so i was trying so hard to come up with the search terms that would lead me back to your video and finally i made it! now its saved in one of my playlists for any future reference! 😊 thank you so much for the content you put out there, i also really love your #fridaysews videos. 🤗🤗 sending many thanks and wishing you all the best!
Oh I’ve been there!! I feel like outsmarting a search engine is becoming a legitimate skill! Good luck!! I’ve learned a few tricks since this and I should do an update. Cheers!
This is great info, Saremy ! Just yesterday I played around with Procreate for the first time and saw a lot of possibilities. So useful and so much fun !
Thank you Saremy! I've been thinking for ages that there must be a way to visualize fabrics with patterns (it's what I struggle the most with)... and while I've had Procreate for years I never thought to use it for that! 💡💡💡ps There's an alpha mask that you could use instead of erasing around the line drawing.
I wish I could take credit for this but I saw a woman on Instagram do this! @ellifolks_sews Admittedly is used procreate to make my own cutting layouts 🤣 The alpha layer won’t work in this case. But I love using that tool. Well I say that and maybe there’s a way. I could be wrong. But the way I know how to use the alpha layer is it only preventing anything I add to that layer staying on the object. I’ll act to think about this. Now you say it I must try it!
This is such a cool idea! I am going to try it. Thanks for the tutorial. I'm kind of new to Procreate. Your ending was kind of abrupt. Was that on purpose?
Clipping mask will work for this too

I think I missed a step, how did you get your picture into the jam top?

@@SewSewLive would love an update! :)
Is there a way to save these mock ups for future use? This is fantastic 😊
Yes! You can print directly from Procreate and the quality makes you feel professional ☺️

Yes it was. I didn’t record an ending and I kind of figured shorter is always better! 😁 so I went with it.
