Dimash breaks all the rules of classical and operatic norms that vocal caches teach. One thing I know I’ve heard them say is don’t stay up there in the soprano and the metso soprano notes because you’ll lose your lower or chest range. Way back in sos he didn’t use the vibrato in his voice all the way thru the song like they teach you in classical singing. He uses it at he wants to. If he likes it here he puts it in or there no vibrato. In the new Japanese song that came out about 2 weeks ago he kept his mouth open almost the whole song. I saw a thumbnail under 2 vocal coaches thumbnail for the video it said teaching vocals in the era of Dimash.
This was written for Dimash by Igor Krutoy who wrote Stranger. Dimarsh asked him to do a new version of Ave Maria for him to sing. Igor doesn’t have to worry whether Dimarsh will be able to sing anything he writes. So the sky is the limit. Well, there probably are NO limits for Dimarsh. He has hit a D8 whistle tone on occasion.
Thanks for another great reaction. Igor Krutoy composed this song specially for Dimash at his specific request. Together, the two of them have created many beautiful new songs. Igor writes specially to cater to Dimash’s exceptional range, ability and technique. FYI, Igor had already retired but he came out of retirement to work with Dimash. In a Russian TV interview, Igor said his mother had told him he needs to write songs for younger singers. But he replied that there aren’t any younger singers who can sing his songs. That’s why he decided to retire... and then he discovered Dimash. And the rest as they say, is history.
That last little part is a vey difficult thing to do vocally. Singing without musical accompaniment Dimash starts the note softly with vibrato but as he crescendos he changes to straight not, peaks in volume, then decrescendos through the straight tone , back to vibrato and ends softly. Very, very hard to do.
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever listened to, and only Dimash's voice could evoke such a profound emotional response in me. This rendition touches the very core of my soul. I have watched this performance numerous times already since it premiered, and I am moved to tears the moment I hear the first note sung by Dimash's angelic voice. Dimash premiered "Ave Maria" in August 2021, during his performance at the annual New Wave music competition in Sochi, Russia. He once again performed with Igor Krotoy on the piano. This is a vocalise interpretation of Schubert's "Ave Maria " 's opening vocals." Igor Krutoy composed this rendition for Dimash; it is not a cover. I read somewhere that the piece uses only three bars from the original composition and changes the fourth note to a higher note. Someone explained that Dimash called Igor Krutoy with an idea for a brand new interpretation of Ave Maria and asked him to compose the music. Dimash is said to love Gregorian choral music, which is where he got the inspiration. Igor composed the music, after which Dimash conceived these exquisite vocals.
