- In this video I am going to paint on denim jacket in abstract style. In this Paint with Me video I want to talk about how to make your art on denim jacket or any other clothes look abstract. Because abstract style in my opinion is one of the most beautiful styles when it comes to painting on clothes. Clothes painted in abstract style have energy and emotions,and such clothes definitely look very interesting and very unique.

Hello! By this kind of things you mean all the things or just "scary"ones :)? If you want to know what do do with creative blocks, of course I have them too. But I learned to don't push myself too hard. Sometimes its ok to get inspired by other artists. For example I saw an artist who painted abstract skull , I didn't copy but just took an idea and painted it in my style and using different colors. You don't have to be "super creative" all the time. But its important to keep painting. For example I painted this skull which is not like completely my idea, but now I have a couple of my own abstract designs ideas, which came to my mind in the process of painting:)

Love your work!!! Quick question, have you ever tried painting over black with say a yellow? I'm assuming it would take many layers to fully yellow? I'm trying to make a black outfit 90% yellow
You need to creat white basecoat first. Then it will take 2 layers for a bright color - white layer then yellow layer

Hi I want to ask you one question, I decided to paint my denim jacket and I used marker pen for outlining but now the marker pen ink is also visible on with my drawing and it's not looking so good. Can you please suggest what should I do? Will it go by itself if I wash it?

It's a Russian brand Decola. But you can search for dimensional fabric paint, there are a lot of different brands on the market

What kind of paint did you use when you first started it? Did you use oil paint for the skull or acrylic?
I use only fabric paints for painting. Other kinds of paints are not appropriate for painting on clothes

Fabric paint outliners? - Are these the same as Gutta used for silk painting? Thank you
Like texture is the same. But don't know about quality, can you use them on denim for example? By the way brand Pebeo produces such gutta outliners and they also produce fabric outliners. So I guess they should be different

It must be hard to iron for 5 minutes on al the thick parts of the jackets like the seams and pockets. I have heard on some peoples videos that clothes can be put in the oven for an amount of time and temperature to seal the paint. Do you do that too or iron everything, even very thick parts???
Honestly I don't iron for 5 minutes 😁 probably for 1 minute each part. Don't know about oven . Have never tried it and would not recommend it because it can be dangerous 🤔 fire hazard ?

I'm just wondering about the way you apply paint. Is it directly from the container thing? I mean, well, I have a background with traditional watercolors and I'm used to dilute\activste the paints with water first, with the brush and apply it to surface. And I believe it was the same thing with acrylics.
So how to go on with fabric paints?

Thank you! You know it depends on paints ) if fabric paints are fresh they usually pretty liquid and you don't need extra water to dilute them. If paints are used they can get dry a bit and then yes you need a bit water.

@@beeeyana ой вы что я наооборот так стесняюсь, что ошибки делаю да слова забываю да акцент сильный 🙈 Учила сама : фильмы, книги на английском, видео всяких ютуберов англоязычных смотрю , очень помогает в разговорном английском. Практики не хватает конечно , не с кем в реале поговорить. Но вот этот мой канал это мой стимул , так как нужно себя заставлять говорить даже с ошибками. Надеюсь носители языка не сильно страдают смотря мои видео 😅

No you don't have to use. The last step is fixing paints with an iron
@@Dariacreative Ok so ironing seals the paint and makes the acrylic more resistent. Am I right?
@@ch4osaeternum74 yes ironing seals the paint. But not acrylics - fabric paints. You need to buy special fabric paints or mix acrylics with fabric medium
