@@minormarley5195 Basically cody Rhodes is a major fan favourite wrestler who's been getting pushed and promoted by wwe the last 2 or so yrs. He faced the longest reigning champion (roman reigns) last year at the biggest event in pro wrestling (wrestlemania) and almost beat him. It only makes perfect sense to book that match again this year. He also had this whole "winning the title would complete my story" checklist thing going and the fans were all over it and really rooting for the guy.
Just when everybody thought they were getting a showdown between Cody and Roman to promote their next upcoming match at wrestlemania this year, with both of them standing in the ring during a segment and talking with each other. Out comes Dwayne the rock Johnson. A guy who's already a well accomplished legend in pro wrestling and comes and goes to the wwe as he pleases to steal Cody's title shot at Wrestlemania. Cody basically announces he's giving up his spot, "reluctantly" shakes rocks hand and leaves the ring. Likely a lot of backstage politics going on.
Everyone's been hating on him because the booking just doesn't make sense and he's stealing the spotlight from Cody. It's also not the first time he's done this to an upcoming superstar by the way. It also doesn't help that he's one of the board of directors in the company now.
Picture Conor coming back right now and getting the title shot against Islam and Justin or Arman or whoever should be next just willingly hands it over to conor. Now obviously UFC fighters wouldn't stand for it because this sport isn't scripted but if you don't be quiet like a good little boy in pro wrestling and do as you're told. You're fired or demoted.
