Some of the best beaches in Greece, Europe maybe, and perhaps the planet. Lefkada looks better with the white sands and the clifs just behind the beach. Best to go to Naxos in the spring when it is less crouded.

I'm not sure about October but we go in late September and it's beautiful. Still warm enough to swim and cool enough you aren't sweating. Mid to high 70s maybe some low 80s. Just depends on the year. We were followed back to Athens by the "hurricane" in 2018 so something to keep an eye out for though very rare.
