  • Pythagorean Theorem.
    In Pythagorean theorem triangle should be right angled.
    Longest side of triangle is opposite to the 90 degree angle. It is called the hypotenuse.
    By Pythogorean theorem, AB square plus BC square is equal to AC square.
    Substituting AB is equal to 3 and BC is equal to 4.
    AC square is equal to 3 square plus 4 square.
    AC square is equal to 9 plus 16.
    AC square is equal to 25.
    Therefore, AC is equal to 5.
    Hence, length of AC is equal to 5 metres.
