I tear up every time I hear this song. I have it in choir practice CD and listen to it all the time. It reminds me no matter what I go through God will always be by my side through my trials.
I've sung under Doc Bonner's direction. His technique is not common. Some would call it eccentric. But notice... The swaying is a response to the movements of the director. For the singers, the breeze inspires a proper center of gravity and relaxes the singer in a beneficial way. It is also a confirmation that there exists a wonderful synchronization. Notice the glorious rubato? They are rock solid together and I'll put donuts to dollars... He just then threw it at them. They did it differently in rehearsal. When Doc Bonner directs a choir, good things happen. For me, singing for Doc is like getting to fly an F-14. There's nothing like it in the world. Just sayin'
@@BethMannPresents I can tell you that it is 100% organic. I've been singing for Doc (and now Judd as well) for 13+ years and we never discuss it. It just happens.
Ugh.. the tenor parts are so high! lol We're learning this at our school choir. xD I'm having so much trouble as a tenor, mostly because I'm more of a baritone. xD
They sing so emotively and I love their gentle swaying. You can tell they really sing as one. Great director.
Awesome. Jesus the King of Israel is coming back to rule the world

I sang under Dr. Bonner in the late 70s when he was at Azusa Pacific. He is an amazing director and musician.

You hit the nail on the head! I miss singing under Doc.
Yes, their movement seems quite organic and only enhances their connection to the song.

The singing and instruments - Great!
The swaying and movement...very distracting.
Beautiful singing and music. The movements were terrible...they felt out of place.
