27.09.2023 - Update on my Lowtech Aquarium Projects

I use DeepSoil, Lowtech, NoFilter, NoWaterchange, HeavyPlanted, Walstad, Method.
I own
1x 54 Litre Baby Tank (Former KitchenWindowsillTank)
2x 250 Litre Tank (WhiteSandsTank & DeepSoilTank)
1x 125 Litre Blackgravel Tank

Great tanks - Any reason you are still using fluorescent lights? And are you aware of the walstad method? This looks very close to that (her tanks use gardening soil and are often placed in front of a window).

Yes, i use fluorescent lights because the tubes are really cheap.
For now i dont like to invest in LED Lights.

Is that gravel on top of the sand of the 150L?

No. in the 125 Liter there is only black gravel. in the middle there is 1cm garden peat. But in mine experience for now simple playgroundsand i much better. Because the Malayan Snails can dig sand better than gravel.

How many water change you do in a month?

I do waterchanges maybe all 3-6 Month.
