Pick up your guitar, tune it correctly, and practice what he has shown. I watched him and it took me literally 15 minutes to learn it. Practice, practice, practice. You'll be playing it for your wife in no time flat.

I'm a beginner... and I can play this.. you just taught me to... but for real, my pinky wasnt ready. The sliding on my pinky has me drinking like a Brit.... shit hurts
Great tutorial Sandeep. Nice work. One suggestion - after the initial picking pattern, you suggest to play the high E string on the 7th fret. I find it easier to slide my ring finger down to the A string on the 12th fret. I believe they are the same note with capo on 3rd (D note). You also return to the 12th fret and the end of the second picking pattern. Just a suggestion. I have tabbed this out based on your tutorial if interested.

I have one question, in the official vevo video, the capo is on the 4th fret, does that sound better, with the fingering up a fret as well as the capo? Sounds cool to me. Check it out
The Cow Milking Kid You can try playing anywhere you like by shifting the capo. I just thought 3rd fret sounds the closest to the original
Chances are that Brett likes to sing it in that key or he has the guitar tuned down a half step...I tune my guitar down a half step as well so when I learn this song, my capo will be on the fourth fret.

Nice job getting it more accurate than other tutorials! I enjoyed it. Helpful tip......To facilitate easier and smoother fingerings, after the first open G position chord (when you go to the higher notes upon the first slide that you do on the 1st string) try fretting those as 10th intervals on the 5th and 2nd strings only. Just walk them down the neck as 10ths, but keep it all on the 5th/2nd strings as pairs without stopping to slide with a single finger.....i.e. fret 13/15 -> 12/13 (hammer on/pull off 15)-> 6/8 (pull off/hammer on 6) -> 8/10. This way the notes can ring out without cutting them short to do the slide. When played live with only one acoustic guitar for those parts or when just accompanying Brett as an acoustic only performance, some of those notes are slides and some are pull-offs, but they’re always held as 10ths pairs.
Side note, when a D position chord is played live during a BY song by the lead acoustic player, that’s often done with an open C position type fingering played up two frets over the D chord, still with the open notes ringing out. (Even if it’s not that way on the record).
One more tidbit...try the opening lick by hammering the 4th string on the 7th fret rather than the 5th (4th fret above capo rather than the 2nd).

4 years ago yousician had this song on. This was when I was first learning guitar. Shortly after I started the song was removed. I didn't have the chance to learn it. This song is amazing and you're correct nothing else online is even close to what was on yousician. From what I recall this is spot on. Great work and thank you for taking the time to teach people how to play guitar.

Your second note of the tutorial is inaccurate. Everything else is good. It should be a hammer-on on the fourth fret instead of second.
I got confused on 3:12 you're not explain if we pick each string separately or together. Plus, when you do it slow for us you should elaborate
