Why on earth cant I just add a profile without Big Brother asking for emails and whatnot ? My wife's Durango had two keys each linked to a preset memory for radio, climate, mirrors, pedals, seats and all, all without intrusive requirements, and that was way back in 2007. I feel BMW is going full-on into Google/Apple-mode here. Create profile 2, rename, assign to second key, done.
IF you add the car VIN to the 2nd profile account then it will indeed delete it from the 1st profile, and for me, it messed everything up and I had to reset user data in the car. I am assuming the OP omitted to mention that the 2nd profile doesnt need to actually add the VIN to their account just to setup the profile in the car, and hence they wouldnt have access to remote services.. only their profile in the car. I havent tried this yet as I dont fancy another reset. But thats my understanding. If the 2nd profile wanted to then use remote services they would need to log into the app as the 1st profile. But their profile would still be retained in the car based on the key used. Can anyone confirm this is correct before I mess up all my settings and devices again? :)
your assumption is correct, I just did this for my wife's profile, so now her key is connected to her bmw profile, but in her 'My BMW' app, she has no VIN assigned. If she wants to use the remote services, then indeed she need to login with the connected ID of the main driver
This doesn’t work. I don’t want another BMW ID or use another key. I just want to add another driver profile. I either drive the car on my own or if my girlfriend is with me we might share the driving. She never drives it on her own. Therefore there is no desire to carry 2 keys and she doesn't want her own BMW ID. Surely it can't be difficult to just add another driver profile!
What a crap those new BMWs are. My wife really wanted electric one. What a rubbish this car is, I already spent hour trying to set up myself as second driver…

Absolutely agree! Ffs I have the app and I am the original driver, wtf can't I just add my wife easy without frustration.
As previous comment said following your instructions overwrites the original/1st driver
Yes, original profile is disconnected. Still cannot figure out how to have two profiles connected simultaneously.
2nd profile should NOT link the VIN in the MyBMW app- only then you can add a 2nd profile via code scan.
Doing that then deletes the car from the original users connected drive garage though
How do I now add that profile I created to someone else’s phone. So for example I want to add my wife and she doesn’t have a BMW profile ?
Can anyone answer this question please it’s really annoying
This worked for me, was able to add my wife as a separate profile.
COMPLETELY WRONG!!!!! This does NOT add an ADDITIONAL profile. Instead it DELETES the original profile and REPLACES the profile with another one.

More helpful than my fucking dealership, thanks bro

Completely wrong
Can you share the right way please?
