Beautiful video! The streets are so quiet and calm, the cleanliness in the streets is really amazing! Thanks for the Montreal sharing.
Another nice thing about Montreal is that all the highrises are downtown, so all the neighborhoods are built to scale to increase neighborliness, and not isolation - and there are lots of trees - many in the median that had turned to gold for fall. All the neighborhoods are connected by Le Metro - so it is easy to get from one to the other, and the Bixi bike system makes the city a great biking town.

Lived briefly in LaSalle for a few Months in the Summer/Fall of 1966 on what was to be a visit from Australia and lived with my older brother and family on Vachon at 37th east near the swimming pool. before moving to Toronto. Make some lovely friends there. Bobby Peel and his sister who lived around the corner and a lovely young lady who went to the Station with me on one of my few short visited to Montreal around Christmas. Unfortunately lost touch with them. My brother actually moved back to Ireland a few years later so all contact with the area really lost. I ended up residing in Toronto and getting married and eventually moving to Australia away from the snow and cold. My nephew Colum Surgenor now resides in Alberta. Obviously the people I knew may have moved elsewhere in Canada. The fact that we are also in our late 70s at least as I am 79, I often think fondly of them, and trust they are well and had a good life. The streets are still there and the houses the same as one can see on the internet, however, people move on including family, like ships in the night. Should anyone know Robert (Bobby) PEEL and or his sister, if they could post basic info here that would be fantastic.
What part of Ireland? I'm from LaSalle and live in North County Dublin now.
I grew up just off Dollard on Cure legult. We left in 82 when my mom remarried an American. Haven't been back since 94. I've lived in Ireland for 16 years now. Been missing home something awful lately!
LIVING IN VERDUN SINCE 2004 I MUST HAVE DRIVEN IN LASALLE 1000 TIMES AND KNOW OF NO OTHER BLVD LIKE NEWMAN WITH SO MANY STORES WITHIN A 15-MINUTE DRIVE. BETWEEN ANGRIGNON AND NEWMAN ALL ANYONE COULD ASK FOR IS HERE!!
