I'm a poker dealer and will tell you Kem is hands down the best playing card. I've worked with both brands extensively. Kem have the better feel(that's subjective though), but where Kem really shines is DURABILITY. These two brands are not made of the same material. Copag is relatively easy to mark or crease and have to be replaced 3-4 times more often than Kem. Spend the extra 10 bucks and buy Kem.
I own both Kem and Copag decks, and I prefer the artistic design of the Kem royalty cards best. I'm not familiar with Modiano, but I do also own a couple of decks of Bicycle Prestige plastic playing cards, which I think are as good a quality as the others. I would call them my very close favorites, only slightly ahead of the Copags. My biggest problem with the Kem cards is that they tend to warp over time, while the Copags and Bikes do not.
I wanted to like Copag the most - watched this video, and decided to try Copag first. Great cards, very impressed. First time I'm buying cards of this quality. Just ordered some Kems to try them out, and because of the praise of Copag's in this video and how expensive Kem cards are, I really wanted to like Copag more. But wow, the feel/shuffle of the Kem cards! The shuffle is noticeably smoother. I almost don't get how one would prefer Copag's, but I do. To each their own! Ordered 2015 WSOP Modiano cards as well, and was disappointed to find that they were bridge size (bridge WSOP cards? Just realized this isn't uncommon) but they are great. I think I like them more than Copag too! Great video by the way.
I will add that after some use, the Copag cards certainly wear less easily. I have used them the most, yet the Kem cards and Modiano cards have more noticeable wear. I've learned that I also like the way the Copag face/pip cards look the most. Ultimately, it's really preference. I think the Kem cards clearly handle the best, but Copag's last longer. Would easily put them in my top 2 right now.
Everybody keeps repeating the terms "plastic playing cards", "PVC" (which stands for polyvinyl chloride), and with respect to the KEMs "Cellulose Acetate", without really knowing what they're saying. What almost everyone fails to realize though, is that cellulose acetate is actually a type of paper. Cellulose is derived from tree pulp and is a polysaccharide and not a true polymer. Cellulose acetate is sometimes referred to as a bioplastic because the reaction with acetic acid gives the resulting esther plastic-like properties, but cellulose acetate is technically and biochemically paper. I speak nothing to the quality of the cards made from CA vs. PVC as I have not compared them. Both cards may have similar longevity when compared to the typical lifespan of a human, but on a scale of say 500 million years, PVC will far outlast cellulose acetate as it is not biodegradable or made from soluble fibers.
Yehuda S its not paper. for example, there is nitro cellulose, made from cellulose. its not paper because it is used to make smokeless gunpowder, ping pong balls, pyroflash, historical uses include artificial fibers for clothes, billard balls, film material, etc. calling it paper is just dumb, when you tell people that the propellant in shotgun shells is paper or that some old billard balls are made from paper or that they blew up the cinema in "inglorious basterds" using paper, and that the beautiful white dress of silk-like shine that marylin monroe used to wear was made from paper, they will just think that you are an idiot. same with cellulose acetate.
This is actually not true at all. It is factually proven that the Kem cards are of the best durability. Please research this and read up on it before posting false information.
What purpose would I have to mislead users? I didn't know Copags and Modiano were PVC. I've used all three decks extensively in home games and all hold up very well. I've washed them all with soap and water too, and all clean up nicely. I've played with cheap PVC cards before, and I would not describe these as such.
Great review! I also prefer Copag cards over any other. I just order 2 Modiano decks. I really like the Modiano playing cards too. I have also played with Kems and they are great so I see myself getting them in the near future. Why not have them all right!!!! Take care.
I own 2 packs of KEM and Copag. I prefer Copag because they're smaller and shuffle more smoothly. KEMs are more flexible and durable, but they feel a bit bulky in the hand.
This is a quote from the Copag website. Also from what I've read copag are manufactured in Brazil. I'm not sure if they have factories in other counties. "Copag Cards COPAG cards are considered by knowledgeable players of any card game to be the finest in the world. Made from 100% PVC plastic, Copag sets are generally expected to last from 20 to 50 times longer than regular paper cards."
Kem's actually the priciest of the three, even more so if you're not situated in the United States. In my case for example, I get a decent shipping and price value for copag to $21 dollars while the Kem I can get for $36-$40 dollars with shipping, tax not incl. Though the price dictates the quality of the brand, I'd prefer copags over Kems, not to mention every card club in the Philippines are using those cheap-o copag bridge (casino size) decks. I've never laid my hands on a modiano deck before. Though I had the opportunity to get me some, I chose not to because it's a bridge deck, I only use poker sized decks for my home games.
Lorenzo Paredes a friend of mine organizes poker tournaments in munich, he uses wide poker-size copag decks, they are excellent. somehow he manages to cut the cost down to just 6 euros per deck. kem arrows have that legendary status and are really hard to get and expensive, but the quality is really the same, both kem and copag are top of the line excellent quality. the only difference is the prestige of the cardback design. i also have no experience with mondiano, but i researched, apparently they also have poker sized decks.
Copac is the best! Just purchased a new brand of plastic cards faded spade. They were disappointing to thick and not easy to shuffle. I'll stick with Copac
Most all poker rooms use bridge size. They're a bit narrower and easier to handle. Oddly enough, poker size tend to be used for other house games. I prefer the smaller index rather than jumbo index too.

I must say, I just bought two packs of Copag's just three days ago. And I can already say that I will never go back to anything else! I love Copags
hothamandfauri kem better
@@DatBwoiXERXESdem I personally also like Kems, the cards are just so much softer.
I have both sets, i keep the Kems at home and travel with the Copag's.

I love Kem! I think Modiano’s jumbos are the best for players with impaired vision! Kem’s jumbos don’t accent skin tone like the standards do.
Great review! I also prefer Copag cards over any other. I just order 2 Modiano decks. I really like the Modiano playing cards too.
I have also played with Kems and they are great so I see myself getting them in the near future.
Why not have them all right!!!!

Copag is from brazil man
bruno sandanelli want a gold medal? He said he thinks it’s from the USA. He wasn’t sure

Copag is made in Brazil bro

Hola. Me gustaría saber como se el año de fabrica de mis naipes kem.
Cool.
I prefer the stiffer cards, Dal Negro, Modiano, Da Vinci.
Kems and Copags are good cards but thinner which some people like, just not me.
Gemaco super flex the best
everytime I look at copag decks on here they are marked decks. is this true with all decks?
Landon Condra No. The majority of them aren't marked.
Oops! You are correct. Thanks for the correction.
@zhr0naX My preference? In order, Copag, Kem, Modiano
i'm gonna get Copags... thanks for your review!

"Copag Cards

Yes, the major factory of COPAG is based in Manaus. Here in Brazil, the most popular deck of playing cards is the COPAG 139.

Copac is the best! Just purchased a new brand of plastic cards faded spade. They were disappointing to thick and not easy to shuffle. I'll stick with Copac
Should I use bridge size or poker size for texas holdem?
well Texas holdem is poker isn't it? but seriously i would say poker size is better.
Most all poker rooms use bridge size. They're a bit narrower and easier to handle. Oddly enough, poker size tend to be used for other house games. I prefer the smaller index rather than jumbo index too.
I keep reading that poker rooms are moving to bridge size cards, but all the big poker tournaments on TV still use poker size, jumbo index.
I go for the Modiano! Thanks.
I'm 10 miles from Cherokee casino and I play poker there using copags. I wonder if they'd sell me a deck of Copags fron there?!?
Copag is made in Brazil but some of them in Belgium.
copag is produced both in brasil and belgium
Copag is a brazilian trademark,so I believe it is made in Brazil
Kems are great but they lose me on those atrocious jokers; I play a lot of joker poker. Copag have the best jokers IMO hands-down.
i have:
1copag
3bicycle
2aviator
1bcg
