Cv joints are on Jeep’s equipped with 4 auto application so you won’t get the binding when in 4 wheel drive turning on drive pavement for example, cv joints also handle more torque load at higher angles. U joints are slightly stronger at 0 degrees but that’s debatable depending on design and application.
Thanks for the review, and love your facial expression when you stepped on the gas! Recently ordered a Sahara 4xe and was planning on paying cash, but I'm intrigued with the lease option utilizing the tax credit. (Also I live in Ventura County, so recognize everywhere you were. Look for a "Sting Grey" 4xe giving you the Jeep wave on Mulholland!)
Thank you and I'll keep my eyes peeled! If you're able to pay cash, you still stand to receive the $7500 as a tax rebate for the calendar year that you took delivery of the vehicle... so I'm assuming for you that would be your 2022 taxes! I just like that Chrysler Capital will extend the $7500 to you right off the bat as cap cost reduction on your lease thru them and make the overall cost of leasing one of these quite appealing/affordable -- especially in a market full of terrible 'deals'
Tax Credit is a scam which they don't give off the price of the car. We fell for it and it didn't work out that way. When you lease it, you get two options, you either lease with Chrysler or a Bank. If you lease with Chrysler you pay high % rate If you lease with Bank you pay much lower but no incentives.
I regret ordering the safety stuff. I thought it was on the level with Fords(360 sensing), but it's not. It's mostly just for backing up and like you say, the camera tells you all you need to know. And now I have all these sensors to worry about going bad and/or getting hit. Also, while I like adaptive cruise, I think I'd have rather had a little extra sky peeking through the windshield. You live and learn, I guess.
Haha!! Man, 2 peas in a pod! Even though I didn't get any of it, these were my exact thoughts/justifications for abstaining 😅 Still can't hurt to have blind spot and ACC from time to time 🤷🏻♂️👍👍
I totally agree. Ordered my 2023 Wrangler Sahara 4xe without the safety package and with just regular cruise control. Did get the front trail camera so I have that forward view for parking in tight spaces or for off-road use.
I’ve had sports cars that were convertibles and I always thought the wind was excessive, and I never really liked it. My Wrangler isn’t nearly as bad as far as the wind is concerned, you can also roll around with windows down and you don’t get the buffeting you get in a normal car. Something tells me that it has to do with the aerodynamics.
I want to buy one, but I need a very important question answered. Is it possible to put the vehicle in neutral gear in EV mode (so the gas engine isnt running) and put a 60lb weight on the drivers seat and have the AC or heater on all night without the engine coming on to charge, assuming the battery is fully charged?
I love my 4xe, I’ve had it a few months now, but after a long trip, I realize it’s too early for it’s time. Hardly any charging stations, at home it’s 14 hours to 110v charge and $1800 for a 240v to be installed. Any big city chargers cost .43cents a minute to charge, so that’s $68 bucks for 25 miles of driving? Not worth it. Maybe in the future, but too soon. IMO not worth the $65,000 price tag.
I totally understand where you're coming from... my use case is a bit different though. I primarily got it for the smoking deal ($7,500 Federal Incentive) but I already had a 240 at my house, cost $600 of which 90% was rebated by DWP. I'm able to charge for cents on the dollar (no perceivable difference in my electricity bill) and drive around near me without burning fuel. I've never charged at a public charger Bc I agree with you that they're far too expensive for a vehicle that I can simply put fuel in. TLDR: I charge at home for little $ and simply use gas when traveling longer distances. All worth the massive savings I got for this being a PHEV (enjoy your Wrangler!)
@@Reoniz I just discovered the 7500 deal yesterday. I am leasing a Rubicon 4xe this week. I also have the employee discount through my brother. Combining those deals dude my lease is around $400 a month 0 down. I also already have a 240 in my garage. Round trip to work is only 16 miles. I’m most excited about the acceleration and having the most bad ass Rubicon.
Charging stations are mostly a waste of time for a 4xe, though, unless they just happen to be wherever you park for a bit. Sit for a 2 hour charge to get 25 electric miles on a long trip? Now, if your work place has chargers and you have a long commute, that's one thing. But waiting to charge like you would an EV seems like a waste of time. Chargers on off road trails would be sweet, though. Either way, it sounds like you might not understand how the system works if you think keeping that battery fully charged at all times is that essential. Even at 0%, this is still a hybrid vehicle. It still floats through 25mph side streets with little to no engine assist, and still gives you 470 tq when you stomp the pedal down.
Yep the infrastructure in the US has to be robust to support the new proposed EV craze being pushed by the Gov and auto manufacturers. Many charging stations are no longer free, and the wait to charge on the road-can be 1 hour, this was not an issue a few years ago, I'm going to wait another year to see how the fully EV wrangler develops as charging once a week vs everyday is better for me. hope your 4xe turns out to be a good vehicle for you...
Nice review man! I am also coming from a 4 series GC and looking into a jeep with 4xe cause I think it suits me and makes a lot of sense. Question - how did you feel about sacrificing the luxury and amenties of the bimmer going into a jeep which as less perks, like manual seats, manual tail gate, road noise in cabin, etc..?
Honestly I don't miss any luxury amenities and actually prefer the simplicities of things like manual seats... although the road noise is frustrating especially with the sky-one touch haha! Overall, the only thing I really miss from my 340i is the sporty driving experience
Hey, I’m considering leasing the Sahara version of the 4XE. I have positive equity on my current lease. If you don’t mind could you describe the process? I was told since the car would have to be ordered my trade-ins value would be adjusted based on the delivery. Also, I was told incentives and final MSRP can change upon delivery.
I’d like to know more about the $7500 federal incentive. What exactly does that mean? I’ve never financed or leased a car or Jeep in my name and I’m looking to here in the near future. But a Jeep is what I want.
So this is essentially a free down payment on a lease, or a tax rebate on your annual income (provided you have over $7500 in taxes) By leasing, you're getting a lower monthly payment with this incentive, which makes leasing a 4xe rubicon less than leasing a non 4xe Willys (even though it costs around $20k less than the 4xe Rubi!)
Informative honest video. I’ve just started researching the 4Xe and have been considering getting one. Drive a 2019 GMC Sierra Denali so it would be weird going from a truck to a jeep. Do you still like the 4xe 5 months after making this video?
Good review, and congrats for your 4xe ! I think it's great that Jeep did this trim, although I think I will probably go for a traditional gasoline-fueled Wrangler, if I do ever get one. Luckily, here in Oklahoma we have gas prices that are sub $3/gallon 😁
Does that tax credit affect the lease end value too? Say it’s 60k minus the 7500, does that mean the lease end value is 52500 minus depreciation and other fees?
