I don't think it's as great as Shin Godzilla and Ultraman, but it sure is an amazing movie. I don't know if I want Anno and Higuchi to continue work on the pitched Shin Ultra trilogy or for Anno's "Masked World" to move forward. Both of these worlds are beautiful homages to Showa era heroes, I can't help but to yearn for more.
It was cool to meet you Monday night and shoot the breeze for a bit after the movie. I'm still can't believe that was the closest movie theater to you.Hands down, it's a great movie that's worth the money san final fight. Waiting on blu-ray/DVD, something worth having. The order for fights is perfect order. I was not picturing shin go-ranger next; I went with the on the nose of continuing this with V3 and riderman. Look forward to meeting you again later this year.
I'm still waiting for Shin Godzilla and Shin Ultraman sequels as much as I want one for Shin Kamen Rider. I've only been a Rider fan for like 2 years and as such never did I think I would get the chance to see a Rider film in theaters (especially since I missed seeing Shin Ultraman in theaters earlier this year). It really did feel like a love letter to the original show. The amount of callbacks was insane. I was all in for the blood (even some of the body horror early on as well), and the action scenes were top notch. Costume designs and filming locations were incredible to watch as well. Didn't expect Hongo or Rukiro to die at all. Though Hongo being in Hayato's helmet at the end weirdly enough gave me Iron Man vibes. Don't know if anybody else felt like that as well. It was also cool seeing Tachibana and Taki through a different lens then originally. While I don't think this was as good as the previous Shin films, the experience of seeing it in a theater more then made up for it. I would love to see him and Higuchi do Shin Gamera, Shin Gorenger and Shin Gavan. Though Shin Kikaider and Shin Inazuman would be cool as well never even thought of those.
Shin Gojira sequel got canceled by Toho because they don't want a Gojira that didn't look like Gojira(In concept he would grow into some fourth dimensional god)
Was actually in the same initial release of this movie with you. I loved this movie and I loved feeling the camaraderie of meeting other franchise fans outside of a convention or the internet and knowing that they share a love for the same thing I did. This film is Anno to a T. I feel the only criticism I can personally give after reflection is that the more intimate nature of the story and the lack of the larger than life Kaiju action a Godzilla or Ultraman project can offer, the world of this movie feels small and cramped. Other than the two government agents we don't actually feel the danger of shocker on the world. Each segment and encounter with an augment was kept to one set piece and something about the crowd shots always felt artificial. We never get to know these characters outside of who they are after shocker becomes a part of their lives and because there is no outsider that the rider protects it feels almost as though they are now trapped in this endless moment that has become their lives. I actually mentioned to you that I could not recommend this movie to anyone not already familiar with the franchise because otherwise it would be impenetrable. I think that's why, we don't actually see what impact these events have on the general population of the world it has created.
Give me shin Robot Detective. They already introduced him so just make him get interested in like Sherlock homes or Philip Marlowe and boom - pulpy detective super robot tokusatsu shin kamen rider spin-off movie.
Zero was alittle disappointing to me honestly like it all kindof just shifted to him suddenly and i and such was kindof just background(even thoug i know he was aluded to by ruriko) I understand a foil and final battle thing and that it set it up for the long haul that is shockers legacy, just he lacked abit of something and then came his more truthful shift at the end felt off abit, overall loved the thing wish I got to see it a second time. Sasori dieing felt abit so so since normal guns seem usually ineffective to augs but maybe they got some specs from ruriko in that department, spider aug was a favorite from a design point for me
Sasori was done in by a bunch of spikes, as thats what she moans out during the final moments. But yeah its the final fight that drags the film down due to its shift.
@ZEO AGITO oh thank you I did see the begining of the confrontation i mainly just saw and heard the guns in my theater I missed that part and abit of the bat aug fight in the beginning, i had someone next to me that just kept talking and I got distracted telling them shush, the spike thing makes it much clearer now
From what I saw, most others just went to the single showing, so there wasnt much time to digest and see if the second showing would hold things up or bring things down. This is why I made the trek to drive as far as I did twice, just to allow myself to properly process, digest and critique the film. Its easier to judge after knowing what to expect and then being able to pick apart certain things. But then again, I'm also in the minority with my thought process, having been consuming this type of content for decades, as more recently while everyone was praising Black Sun I just said it was Okay.
The excessive use of blood seems way too unnecessary and that they could use the blood in certain parts. Sometimes it feels like the neck on Hongou is removed and later another scene is put back. If we were ignoring the scarf. It sometimes feel wrong whenever we see the necks.
@@yozora1047 wait really now I'm gonna pray that the director doesn't think of the idea of putting the exact same scene as he did in one of the episode for evangelion.

To me it was the most OK movie I've seen. As a Kamen Rider fan it's alright. As a movie it's kinda meh. The final battle had the most shakiest camera I've ever seen. It was like they were trying to mask how nothing that final battle was. Also take a shot every time there's a masking or unmasking scene. You will get piss drunk.
It was good but felt rushed and had to many pointless scene and that stupid fart coloured filter ruined every moment for for me so for that I give the dragon knight D but this review was raw as fuck so I give this review a ultraman saga S++/keiwa got another L okey I be honest that S++ only came from thunder rx and because of that new prosona because there our homies and we help out our homies sorry zeo but your not apart of this friend group lol see ya don't wanna be ya
Are there subs for the movie yet? If not, then it's fine I already spoiled myself because of doing some research into Ichiro Midorikawa after reading the prequel manga, so the spoilers are fine by me
@@yozora1047 I'm from the Philippines, I don't think they have any showings in there, and if they did, it's probably in Manila, which I'm not from. It's expensive just to get a boat or plane ticket to go there
haha i understand. goin to a diff city or country just to see a movie is ridiculous and expensive. i went to vietnam to visit my family and the geats x revice movie in vietsub just happened to be there, so that was convenient for me

I preferred Shin Godzilla, but its probably my bias that elevates this past Ultraman for me.
