I can get behind some Gyahri action. I probably wouldn't play the character if there was a full roster, but with the limited number in the beta, Ahri seems alright.
It's really gonna be up to the Cannon bros. Riot has shown that they let their teams handle how they want to do competitive with Valorant, TFT and LoR so it's gonna depend on what the Cannon's wanna do.

I'm actually very surprised she got so much feedback to change her ammo system. The resource management was one of the interesting parts about her I think. Her old super was fun too. I guess I'm a little worried that they might flatten other interesting characters out like ekko now. Have to try the new version though and see
ekko's after images are different because the are options that open things up. the feedback for the ahri's ammo seemed to be more along the lines that it felt extremely limiting and not fun to play around in practice.

I'm glad they're cracking down on long combos that don't do much damage, it's the one thing that annoyed me in UNICLR (and in some BBCF characters). It's really weird when the first few hits get you 70% of the damage, and then the combo keeps going for 15 seconds for the rest. Fuck Seth, specially. And then there's Battle for the Grid, but at least those combos will eventually kill.
Devs: Find your own fun, screw newbies. Also Devs: shit we are DEFINITELY losing money if we don't get the newbies. Duhh "we wanna make it good for pros and newbies!" Tag games/fighting games in general, never noob friendly.
So far the only thing I dislike is the dialogue and sound effects. They could have different VA but I would like them to keep their one liners or sound effects they make in the MOBA. Yasuo not calling out his moves feels off and less hype. Its like Scorpion not saying "Come Here!" or "Get Over Here!" or Hiei not saying "Dragon of The Darkness Flame". Its not a big deal but it goes a long way like going to Memphis.

For context, I'm getting my game design certificate soon: The term alpha actually means having a more or less feature complete game. So, alpha lab implies they're actually letting us test so soon that we could actually choose what base features the game has. If they started testing at any later point a lot of stuff wouldn't be possible. People have a really hard time getting their head around how long game features and bug patches take to change (unless you dont care about the result of it too much, IE tekken lol)

I hate Ahri so much and now she looks so much fun to play 😭😭 She also has that Morrigan colorway, it's like the devs are actively targeting me and doing everything in their power to make me pick her up for this game.

That's why she carries a huge pair of scissors in the League of Legends MOBA, but she also has some abilities that she throws needles ^_^ So her character concept enables a lot of freedom and creativity for what they can do for her moveset in 2XKO

My biggest question with this whole thing is why is this game taking SO long? like its not that i mind waiting but is it not a little concerning this game was announced 5 years ago and their calling this the "first draft?" with like a couple characters, its a bit concerning since a lot of the other projects announced around that time seem to have imploded (MMO, the top down game and the rest of riot forge). Is this normal for fighting games or should we be concerned something is not going well with this project?
you cant really compare it with the other riot projects because those literally have nothing going for them (official trailers, dev blogs, play test) while project l is getting an alpha test and has been playable to the public in fgc events, add to the fact that we get regular updates from the team and im pretty sure they just dont wanna half ass the product since this is a huge opportunity to be a mainstream fighting game thats free for anyone to play
They completely changed the games direction at least once. The Project L shown at the 10th anniversary was completely different graphically and might not have even been a tag fighter. I think they're just putting a lot of care into this game.

They are developing the game and reaching out to the FGC for feedback. It's not drip feeding you, they don't have a complete game and are giving bits and pieces. They are working on the game and they are like "hey this is what we have completed, we are asking you at an early enough stage where we can make changes"
They’ve said they have been so open so early because they want feedback early enough that they can make changes before release. I prefer that over needing to rush out patches after release
I want to preface this with the knowledge that it is a preference that you are completely entitled to. I do not intend to attack your opinion, only to broaden your perspective. Myself and many others like being able to see parts of the process. Being able to get in early to give feedback is one of the best things devs can do imo. It’s really hard to gauge how people feel about certain aspects as the devs will be inherently biased. It may only make sense because they’ve made it or dealt with it for so long, perhaps to anyone else it is incredibly unintuitive. I know that Supergiant Games has taken this approach with both Hades 1, and now Hades 2. With Hades 1 proving to be a major success. So it’d be incorrect to say that it never works, it just needs to be done correctly. If they were to do early tests and proceed to not listen to any feedback or make any changes, that would be an example of how to royally mess it up.
this "whole drip feed method" is how devs get accurate feedback from players. this is not a new idea, most dev companies just don't make their playtests public and instead hire private playtesters, but many games have begun to use public playtests.

Does that ahri change mean the rekka only works while she has orbs? So if you deploy the bomb then no rekka for you?
It looks like orbs slowly come back over time now. There’s a combo in the video where she uses all three, they respawn, then she uses more.
