  • Left the Camp in the rain storm at 2,400 feet at around 4PM and hit the snow just a bit later at 3,000 feet. Decided to put Security Chain cable chains SZ492`s on the front axle when I had a wide spot in the snow. Have another set for the rear but did not need them, 15 to 20 MPH top speed all the way to Foresthill Road intersection at 4,800 feet. Passed several flat lander Jeeps driving up part way on Foresthill Road that were slipping all over the road, one was trying to tow another one back onto the road !! Then 12 miles down hill to Foresthill where the snow stopped and the rain took over.

Yep, is was a fun trip up there !! This was not the worst snow area, just had to do the short video while it was safe to do so. A half mile farther up the road it all turned nasty, downed tree limbs in the road, windshield defroster working overtime, and while seeing previous tire tracks, hoping that no one ahead of me had spun out and blocked the only way out. I was about 2 miles from the Foresthill Road still. I carry 60 feet of tow chain and a Stihl 028-WB "Wood Boss" chainsaw, and snow survival gear with me.
