Without doubt, Louise was spectacularly good looking. What I find most endearing amongst her facial features though, notwithstanding her beautiful dark eyes and perfect nose, are her lips and smile. She has the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. Literally the perfect smile!!!
I don't agree. She wasn't a bigger star because she wouldn't play the game in order to be a bigger star. She was way too intelligent and independent and she was really good at burning bridges. You might call her self-destructive- but that's what happens when you're in a different world than everyone else. And our current era is so brain-dead, I don't think she would have stood it for a minute.
The most hauntingly beautiful woman ever committed to celluloid. Her emotions change so quickly, like light and shadow on a stormy spring morning. I am writing a fantasy novelette which features an older Louise and a young film history student. I hope I can do her justice.
The Legendary Queen of the screen ( Louise Brooks) Just got the 2018 movie About her early Life. The movie The Chaperone. She was a extraordinary woman.
I love her she was amazing never given enough credit I never knew why they give Marilyn Monroe more attention when Louise brooks was the first lady of motion pitchers by far
@poeticjustice2345: This an excellent visual tribute to Louise. She was THE face of the Roaring Twenties flapper. But more importantly, from my perspective, is the fact she truly epitomized the independent woman. She traded her acting career for the sake of her self respect. Early on she was in three movies that explored the more lurid side of a woman's sexuality. Given her childhood abuse, and the way she was used by movie execs, she never had a lasting, loving, relationship with a man. And she didn't give a shit about it either. Though she was unfairly criticized for her voice by one movie exec (he would not support her career in the new "talkies"), she had a wonderful rich voice. I personally found it highly attractive. If you have a chance to add the black and white clip of her dancing the Shimmy at one of the famous New York speakeasies at the time please do. THAT was sexy a heck.
American....in the legendary German silent Pandora's Box by Pabst, where she ends film a victim of Jack the Ripper. Another legend, critic Kenneth Tynen, wrote an essay on her which took lust to the stratosphere
She is a natural charmer who was perfectly cast in Pandora’s Box. She may have been the first modern actress. Her charm worked off screen too as she apparently had many liaisons with both men and women. It’s a terrible tragedy that she was denied the career she deserved.
I have always loved watching her on screen. She is so vibrant and so modern as to feel among us. Then I discovered Colleen Moore, whose lighthearted charm and soulful romance make Louise look more hedonistic and superficial. Louise was a smart woman. She wasn’t ever really a warm one. Unfortunately, MOMA mishandled Colleen’s films, letting many disintegrate. That’s why today nobody seems to know much about Colleen’s work, and her success as the biggest box office draw of 1926 and I think 1927, too. Both actresses are worth following. Both were beautiful. Both were trendsetters, most especially Colleen, whose bobbed hair was widely copycatted. Colleen’s clothes and makeup were also widely emulated. She was the original flapper in “Flaming Youth”. Colleen was a witty writer, too, whose autobiography “Silent Star” gives wonderful details about the early days of Hollywood.
@909chuck Wow, 90% are gone? I've been into B&W movies for a few years now and I never knew this figure. I guess this is one occasion that you can't say, ''You can't miss what you never knew''. Maybe we should just be very grateful we have what we do have. Growing up, whenever I saw an old movie it was often difficult to sit through because of the hiss in the sound and faded scratched up images. Now you can watch any 1930's movie in what looks like a perfect picture and the sound is excellent.
her bobbed haircut !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! her unpredictable behavior "The great art of films does not consist of descriptive movement of face and body but in the movements of thought and soul transmitted in a kind of intense isolation." ― Louise Brooks ~thanks~ I enjoyed it~
Too bad she hated Hollywood. Some fans think she should have stayed in the German film industry where she had enjoyed her great success. Really,?During the Third Reich? That would have destroyed her reputation.
What a DOLL !!! To me she is by far the most attractive actress of her era.
any era
Easily!
Cute girl. But not as cute as Clara Bow.
@@rongreen4231 But close. She is right there. She liked Clara a lot and visa versa.
Her smile, her dark eyes, her black helmet... gosh! I am in love!
Without doubt, Louise was spectacularly good looking. What I find most endearing amongst her facial features though, notwithstanding her beautiful dark eyes and perfect nose, are her lips and smile. She has the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. Literally the perfect smile!!!
And a beautiful neck too.
Louise Brooks an American actress Icon from the 1920s silent film era
So Beautiful. No one can compare to her.♡
Iconic look of her era, and a complete goddess. Mesmerising eyes God bless you louise
She actually started that haircut.
In today's era, she would be an even bigger star than she was. Hands down one of the most beautiful women to have ever lived. My wife is another.
Agree with the first, concur with the second, envy you the latter...

How’s that novel coming along.
Absolutely Mesmerizing - love the way she controls her emotions in a split second
Singularly amazing beauty. Louise Brooks was truly one-of-a-kind. ❤
Beautiful! Louise Brooks was an wholly American original. Thank you!
She was cutting edge, the epitome of the modern woman.. fun, free, mischievous and disarmingly charming.
What a beauty. I've always had a crush on Lu Lu.❤
It's 2019 and I still think she is one of the sexiest women I have ever seen on film.
What aknockout - so seductive- vibrant - exudes that vivacious innocence that makes her timeless
Great upload - thanks! Oh Louise, how fickle is fate....and how I wish I had a time machine.

It strange and wonderful how a contemporary song fits so perfectly with this silent screen heroine.
I love this video so much!
Hermosa eterna
Watched Pandora's Box a few days ago here on YT and now I'm kinda obsessed w her. She was amazing.
One of the sader days of my life was seeing her 80 years old in an interview. In a way I fell in love with her when she was young.
awesome. thanks for posting.
I love you Louise...had I met you, I would have given you everything.
I admit I have fallen in love with a 1920's model/dancer/silent film actress. She was the most beautiful woman who ever lived!
unforgetable unbeliveable , i fall in love suddenlty
This is a marvellous tribute to a cinematic icon. Thank you, poeticjustice2345.
love this! thank you!
She is the most beautiful woman who ever lived.
Read her book ... Lulu in Hollywood. Her mind is also amazing. And so funny.
Yes, she had beauty and brains, and talent. Louise was the full package. I can hardly resist gazing at her.
She was a brilliant writer.
I have seen her high school picture. It is totally amazing. Her eyes are so entrancing.
Louise Brooks is one of the most underated beauties of her time.
Excellent video! Loved the ending.
😘👍So beautifull 😍
Beautifully done ... thank you!
Beautiful tribute!
She was one of a kind! Love her!!! Tks so much for reuploading this vid:)
Forever lulu!!
The Legendary Queen of the screen ( Louise Brooks) Just got the 2018 movie About her early Life. The movie The Chaperone. She was a extraordinary woman.
This is *very* well done! She was a classic, and ahead of her time. Extra points for using Imogene Heap's (Frou Frou) "Let Go."
Love Louise brooks and you did a great job on the video!
Adorable, lovely, beautiful Lulu
Bellisima.
Wow, thanks for this. Nicer video quality than I've seen before, especially Pandora's Box.
I love Louise Brooks
excellent choice of music
She is phenomenal
My mom gave me Louise after her as my middle name.
My perfect woman! I so envy the guy at 3 46
I love her she was amazing never given enough credit I never knew why they give Marilyn Monroe more attention when Louise brooks was the first lady of motion pitchers by far

i love her bob hair. x
Happy birthday, goddess!
Excellent, I just shared your video on my facebook page Ziegfeld Follies Girls "Glorifying the American Girl" Great job!

Sigh... she was so ridiculously beautiful.
The only star that I think could have given Garbo a run for her money. But, alas, Louise left Hollywood. :(
Dear little Louise...read the bio; you will be fascinated....
She was part Ingrid Bergman, part Hedy Lamarr and part Elizabeth Taylor and in whole - simply the best!
She reminds me a bit of Natalie Woods, also.
Nice video music matching. Please see Louise Brooks Sirens Roaring 20's for more in-depth profile.

Louise wore the bob since she was a pubescent girl - which means she had the bob before Colleen.
@@kimweidner7351 Yep. Since childhood she had that haircut.
thanks

i think i watched this video ten times by now. great work. who made the song?
Hi poeticjustice, Do you know Louise's full hd movies...I can't find anything! Would you mind uploading some from your personal files?

~thanks~ I enjoyed it~
The tune is by Frou Frou from their '02 album "Details". Good choice.
This went very well with Lana del Rey's "Young and Beautiful"
Got to make the statement: Even James Dean had at least 3 famous movies?
Too bad she hated Hollywood. Some fans think she should have stayed in the German film industry where she had enjoyed her great success. Really,?During the Third Reich? That would have destroyed her reputation.
Much better on mute. Love Lulu.
Marred by the choice of music....
+John Robert Brown I personally like the more modern context. What would you suggest?
+Michael Barnhart I agree with you.Lulu was ahead of her time. The music is perfect for our Brooksie.
Yes, dreadful music
Who cares. I'd watch her to the tune of '3 blind mice.' She's a real stunner! 😍
The song here really ruin the video from me. A typical and insipid teeny bopper girl song.
Yet another tribute to Louise Brooks with garbage-y music that doesn't fit at all. WHY?
The music sucks.
why is stupid contemporary music, that doesn't even fit, playing in the background? It takes away from the presence of louise brooks
