Taylor court supporter !!! All of the rooms in Taylor court are en-suite at no extra cost, where as Westfield you have to pay more, second, the doors hinges used to get loose and slam so loud (not ideal when people use the kitchen at 2-7 am) but just report it to maintenance and it should be fixed for a while. Also the showers are super nice in Taylor court and bathrooms are nice, also WE DO NOT HAVE TO PAY TO WASH OUR CLOTHES, we have Washer in our flat kitchen. Taylor court rooms are very big compared to there others ! The desks were so huge !!! - Courtyard kitchens are beautiful but the showers are shocking , the storage in courtyard is brilliant, but you’re paying for pretty accommodation in courtyard and the prices show !
This was so helpful, I am starting in September I'm so excited. I am doing adult nursing and I am just wondering what the parking situation is like. as I need my car to get to placements and stuff. My accommodation is Westfield court any ideas about what I can do? thank you
Glad you found it helpful! You can buy a parking permit for Westfield Court Car Park and keep your car there, or there is a car park next to the Wilberforce building which I think you have to top up every week or so. Westfield car park would be more convenient for you though :)
Thanks for the helpful video Dane. I have a question, what accommodation do you suggest for couples? I don’t find any of these three so comfy for couples, am I right?
Usually couples would live it different accommodations because 1 it means you meet more people and 2 if anything gets complicated you've got your own space. But if you definitely want to live together then I'd say either Westfield or Courtyard
@@DreamerAnis ah okay yeah a married couple is very different then, you should be fine ahah. Not sure about suites near uni but if you ring up the accommodation office then they could point you in the right direction
Thank you very much, I'll be going to Hull in september to study Software engineering and boy am i nervous. So far I'm leaning towards the courtyard as its fairly cheap, spacious amd has plenty of storage. I just have no idea how im going to pay for accommodation outside of student finance since im moving there from wales....
Thanks for the comment and yeah good point, think of it as Westfield Court is the accommodation area but then each building has a different name (ie Seacole). The names don't really mean much but each one will have something different, so seacole is all ensuits (as far as I know) and Douglas is shared, things like that
I can't remember the exact price but I know I mentioned it in this video. Just multiply it with how many weeks are in your contract and there's your answer
Temperature wise you will be fine. Pro is its easier to get to, con is people can look in if you leave your blinds open. But the ground floor have much stronger windows so no one can break in
@@DaneMellows please how is the work and Study in Hull, I will be joining the school this September. Are there jobs to do to fund one's tution fee? Thank you Dane.
@@faluyichristiana5621 there are lots of jobs to help you financially, part time jobs at pubs, restaurants and shops seem to be popular but the university also offers jobs at the student union and for open days etc. Hope that helps 🙌

Tuning into the hot goss in the Taylor Court groupchat every Monday was without doubt my weekly highlight 😬😉
Don't blame you ahaha I had the Westfield one muted personality 😬😂

If you're worried about rent then go for a cheaper room in Westfield, courtyard is the most expensive one
@@DaneMellows really? Ive been looking at prices and the stamdard price per week is the same as westfield
Can you please tell me the difference between the Westfield Court names for property and suit, Kameny, Douglas, Seacole ⁉️😅

I think you can book pretty soon, depends on when they open bookings for accommodation

Is it gonna be very hot if I stay in Seacole D lvl 5? And are there any pros/cons of living on the ground floor?

Ashcourt Gang for the win
Did someone say most elite accommodation?
I'm coming to Westfield
You'll love it
Hey how’s the nightlife in hull💕
Does hull uni still studying remotely? i’m considering to join there next year ☺️
Remotely at the moment but all Unis are. I think we'll go back to at least a mix on in person/online by September but that's just my opinion
simping over courtyard

What about those interested in staying off campus? What’s the rent like?
Not too bad depending on where you stay, I know people paying £75 a week and I know people paying £110 a week

why is the university accommodation much more expensive than the student accommodations near by?
I'm not too sure, but I do know thats the case for most (if not all) universities. Probably because of the convenience of being on campus
I'm pretty sure covering the utility costs adds to uni accomodation costs too. (You'd have to pay separately in a rented private space)

Have a look at minimum wage for your age in the UK and then if you know where you want to work look up the salaries they give
