- Honeymoon Island is a barrier island across St. Joseph's Sound on the gulf coast side of Florida about 30 miles from Tampa. Consistently receiving more than one million visitors each year, it is the most-visited state park in Florida. Honeymoon and neighboring Caladesi Islands were originally part of a larger barrier island that was split in half during a major hurricane in 1921 In today's adventure we were going to visit both places. After unloading our kayaks, we launched from the non-morized watercraft section of Dunedin Causeway.

Caladesi Island(the second one) is one of the few untouched islands along the Gulf Coast and is officially accessible only by boat, and is worth visiting. The beautiful blue sky, the pristine water, an abundance of wildlife, and nothing more to ask for. The beach was relatively quiet. You can only hear the sounds of the sea breeze, waves, and birds. I dig your joke lol! My wife and I load the rooftop tent with a small step ladder like yours. Only time will tell if one of us falls! That beach is definitely worth the paddle! So calm and no crowd! Our kind of setting. Hope your shoulder heals quick

well this wasn't the first time I was at odds with gravity while on the stepladder, I think the soft sand caused it to fold in on me. Luckily it was a minor fall. Thanks for watching.

I love Caladesi Island! I had a good friend that lived on Clearwater Beach for a few years and had an opportunity to visit Caladesi a few times. It is such a beautiful quiet beach. Great for watching pelicans, dolphins and collecting shells. Kayaking at the islands looked like a lot of fun! I appreciate your own stunts and I hope that your bruised shoulder is okay! 7A- 7Seas nice one. The crash landing on Caladesi island is the same kind of crash landing that April makes😅. I used to swim with the manatees when I lived in Florida years ago. I'm glad I'm not the only one that does their own stunts. Awesome Video!
Thanks, our kayaks don't handle waves too well. They tend to turn quick and will roll you easily.

Caladesi Island is accessible by foot from North Clearwater Beach. Best done at low tide. There is also a shuttle boat from Honeymoon Island.
