This one had kind of manic energy that I think matched the energy of the cube itself. Really liked this one. Wheeler talking here and there about the cube did more to sell me on the idea of making my own cube than anything in a long time. Just sounds fun, you know?

in honour of the return of friday nights, you should build an in paper version of the strictly worse cube, and draft that (although maybe not to the same degree of god awful)
I think they've talked about this before and the problem is that the strictly worse cube is only funny in theory and in reality is just a really boring draft
I made a 1 mana cube a couple of years ago but it was specifically ment to be drafted by 4 people. Lands were the hardest part to fill but I went with lands that had mana sinks.
Cubing rocks. Really been liking my Mono Black mini-cube. Wish I had more chances to draft it, but I'm so bad about taking a bus and spending like two hours just on getting to the and from the LGS.

How about a not-so-monocolor cube? Here is the idea: You pick one color. At deckbuilding, players only can pick basics that produce that color. (Let's say white for example) so players can only play plains. Now you spice the cube with hybrid mana symbols and creatures that have activated and triggered abilities that need any mana but white. you sprinkle in maybe basics of other colors to draft, or actual mana fixing. Just a splitsecond idea, I can't build cubes, I'm too stupid.
When Nelson was talking about having a miserable experience playing a cube with traps to draft into I was very confused because that's my favorite way to play magic in general and build decks and cubes
@@NickTheDM my brother when he introduced me to magic only played elfball for a straight month and never let me cast a single spell so now I only have fun in magic when I am challenged or at a disadvantage. In short wild unplayable sheet is the only real way to play MTG for me and feel something.

The "German sounds funny, if you totally butcher the pronounciation."-joke is only moderatly funny, pretty tiresome and maybe slightly problematic. Funfact, not ot be a total buzzkill: The literal translation of Eichhörnchen is really confusing to germans, because "Eiche" wie in "Eich-Hörnchen" is an oak tree, but the name really is older and refers to the old word "aig" which isn't a port of modern german anymore and means as much "quick.". Also some people thought squirrel ears look like horns, so the are called "Hörnchen"/"small horns". The total, literal translation would be "small quick horn.", which isn't exactly the most intuitive animal name. Also "Eichhörnchen" sounds pretty similar to "Einhörnchen"/"small unicorn", which is a slighlty clunky pun and the reason why you can find squirrels with unicorn horns, when googeling "Eichhörnchen Horn".
It’s probably bad SEO to bury the lede, but I enjoy this trend where Wheeler’s cubes will have a surprise reveal when drafting begins.
I adore unique cubes like this. Far and away my favourite sort of show you all do. Huge appreciation to Wheeler for the fantastic design work.

"Or else it gets the hose again."
I can't, the LRR banter is on another level
What an odd draft environment
I is an odd number but I still disagree with it being an odd draft format like chaos cube or an oddly specific aggro cube
