My name is Max Fredriksson! I’m a 26 years old professional MTB athlete from Stockholm - Sweden! After becoming the vice world champion in 2016 I’ve dealt with a ton of injuries from contests. I currently compete at the highest level of Slopestyle MTB riding in the ’’Slopestyle world championships’’ at Crankworx events all around the world. When I’m not at contests I love and enjoy creating short films on youtube for you guys and bring you along to show what I do other than the daily intense training and constant traveling or competing.
    Love ya’ll! Peace!

Max, don't be afraid to say it's about money. It is. That's NOT A BAD THING. You want better hotel accommodations, better food, expenses covered. And you should get that. If you're invited onto this tour, it should be with an agreement that your expenses are covered and not out of pocket. Fans are there to see you, not the organizers. It's laughable how little riders make on your, whether it's slope style or downhill and everything in between.
Riders bring in the money, they absolutely should get enough to make a living without worrying about travel and health expenses. If they don't want bigger prizes, then all costs associated with attending the event should be covered. Don't want to cover them, pay the riders more.
I know you love the sport, but fight for your worth. Nothing wrong with getting paid what you deserve and earned. Keep up the fight. 🤘🏻

You got veteran pro's working side jobs and next gen kids selling cookies to be able to afford travel unless they have some top tier sponsor. In some European countries up-and-coming riders can get state funding if you're enrolled with the national organisation, but that's pretty much it. Best of luck to the mtb community!

You are 100% right for what you did. Cranworx / RedBull needs to restructure and provide more for the riders. You literally risk your lives and careers at every performance, plus the judges raise the bar every year so riders have to meet that bar. What you can do is insane and riders deserve compensation for that. I am a superfan and I support the riders decision!!! I genuinely hope DH is able to get on board and make changes that support riders in World Tour as well! Look at the crowds at a World Cup. There is money there. If they say there isn’t, then many are taking advantage of the riders.

I think that this is not just about sport or even slopestyle. Workers and Talent around the world need to organize like these boys did to advocate for themselves and others. Stoked that this is getting visibility that it deserves.

Much love and Support!! It takes huge balls to stand up to the people taking advantage of you ESPECIALLY when you don’t have much support to begin with. Your demands were EXTREMELY reasonable AND easily obtainable by the promoters. You are so fucking strong for banding together and uniting together and improving the sport together!! I don’t even watch slope style but you bet your ass I will start now!!! Let’s roll TOGETHER!! LOVE THIS!!!

This is the only way to inspire change they will continue squeezing every single dollar they can out of you while you take risk. Let this be inspiration for all of us and all industries and all walks of life who want change. If you’re the one doing the work, you have the power Stand up and say something if you feel you’re not getting treated with value. This is awesome, I applaud you guys. It takes a lot to make this stand, and it’s so incredible and it shows how amazing this sport is because you all stood together as brothers. Absolutely love this

I understand and support you guys. You and your skills are the reason for the event. They need to provide for the riders. It shouldn't be costing you money when you are providing the show, every one of you guys. You guys hone your talent daily. And, I never thought about the insurance end of it. Travel, housing, time away from your family; those are all costs to you even when they are paying for it. All of us want the best riders. That needs to be paid for.

Wholeheartedly agree on the safety concerns but competitions don't pay competitors it's the other way around - why would slopestyle be any different?

Slope stlye is less of a competition and more of a production like a Broadway play . A company employs people to put on a show and people turn up to pay for the cost of the production . Except the company doesn't want to pay for the cast

@janfuchshofen6466 it is , it's an Invitation only event ,crankworx is asking a small group of people to show up for a display in the guise of a competition, and if you ride trek you get to win . No different to a company employing some independent contractors to show up at theatre and put on a play

Without the riders, there is NO crankworx. Without riders, there is no more anything in slopestyler, mtb or any two wheeled action. It's absolutely unreal that these companies and organizations treat the people who literally hold the businesses up, so badly. It's not an uncommon thing unfortunately but i am super glad to hear a massive group of you guys are taking legit action rather than just speaking words because as we have learned, that never works. I am in full support of this

Well done to you all. There are huge amounts of money being made throughout the cycling and extreme sports INDUSTRIES!! but because of the passion it takes on behalf of the riders/showmen/athletes its wrongly assumed is just a hobby and so you should be grateful for any crumbs you're thrown. Support you all the way. You are professionals and deserve to be treared as such. ✊️

Having competed at a few smaller FMB bronze and silver events through 2013-2016 I was stressed even then about what if I get hurt, what about work, what about getting back home etc. can’t imagine the stress you guys learn to imagine at these events let alone with the added stress from standing up for yourselves this time. Hats off to you guys. It’s can’t have been easy but you are paving the way for our sport to continue sustainably. 🤟

Hey Max. There are always two sides to a story. More and more us viewers are hearing more and more about organisers taking advantage of rides. Glad to see all riders are standing together united. as you take the sport forward. It definitely starts with you guys and the up and coming riders. Hang in there, I really hope your demands are met and penned and any new things that need to be heard that the organisers will listen and engage in meaniful dialogue.
