Oh my, Game Taco!! I'm blown away by your gameplay video and I've been cheering for you whenever your hit lands the monster! Hearing you let out laughs while playing and getting excited with the game mechanics and new monsters is just immensely satisfying to me as a developer. I was actually waiting for the time when you would discover the combo (i.e., thrust, thrust, large swing) with enough stamina but you discovered it eventually, only that you did it the other way round! (Swing, then thrust, which is equally a valid technique I guess)! The way you played really brought a big grin on my face the whole time! And you didn't mispronounce my name; in fact you are one of the people who got it right on the first try! :) Thank you for playing and for the including the training montage (grind)! I am wholeheartedly grateful that you enjoyed this game... When I created this, I only had my brother to beta-test it and since he made it through the whole game without issues, I went on and released it for fun. It was just a side project, no biggie if there's bugs since I don't expect it to get much attention... But now when I revisited this game in your videos, the bugs are really right at your face and it does pains me a little to see players struggle with unintended side effects (e.g., the inaccessible ore in the map due to hitbox issues). The only dilemma I have is if I were to update the game, the saves will no longer be compatible (due to me being inexperienced enough and used the built-in save system of Game Maker Studio, where it saves the "state" of the game rather than writing it to data files...). Hence I didn't continue to update it. Hopefully one day I can have another update of the game, and till that time comes I will always have you players in my mind and being a part of this experience. :) P/S: The stuttering when you land a hit is intended... I learned somewhere (lol) that freezing the frames for a while gives it a "punch" or a "kick" effect to emulate the effect of landing a strong attack. Seems like this idea didn't get executed correctly, haha. By the way, you have a fantastic channel... keep up the good work, and have fun!
