as someone who played illaoi for quite a while now, i dont think she's really annoying, if you're a begginer id just suggest trying her out to figure out what she does exactly but i feel like shes pretty weak against several top matchups, even sometimes, most of the times being maybe better in the midlane in this new patch, she cant really do anything with champs that have high mobility in the start maybe unless you're really good at the game wich im not lmao, and she is pretty weak against scaling champs since she needs to be a lane bully early game and 1v2 every gank wich will put her ahead really quickly, tho, if the jungler or the toplaner are either really movement and pokebased or have already rushed antiheal you're cooked
maybe i havent really learned how to play her yet, even after some time of playing with her and against her, but usually i get really lost when champs like kennen get top lane, or any ranged champ rlly or just champions that can outheal my heal and damage early on, illaoi get absurdely strong late game, tho i feel like she gets a bit slow mid game when you have like 3 items, she still doesnt have that 1v5 capability and most of the times she wont really be able to outheal most damages at that point, cuz either you have iceborn, cleaver, sterak's or you opt to buy a spirit visage for more healing wich will decrease you damage output and make you a bit squishier in the shortterm, her kit i feel like doesnt rlly allow her to go againt full ap champs but i might just be straight up wrong, just dont get her to late game cuz then even kennen or mord cant beat her most of the times, and if you're good enough mechanically and have a nice build you might be able to win against tryndameres and true damage master yi's and gwens
she is strong but has a bunch of counters, she can be really oppressive early on but just like how a draven lane is expected to not lose or else the game is done, she also cant lose lane especially in the start, also i think like characters like jinx or just really scaling champs that get really strong endgame still cant beat her if she's just a little fed, if an illaoi has like 3 kills in the first 15 minutes of the game she's already so far ahead she can beat most of her counters
