Redemption has been a godsend for me, I end up rushing it for all my support heroes. If you pair it with Ingenious item rune then it starts proccing more often allowing even tank heroes to actually provide support to the ADC. In this game you should have also rushed redemption over HS, yeah HS gave you more stacks but you arent really helping your ADC thats why she lost lane.
Mid ? Well, a few things. If you just do a level 1 gank, where you go from fountain to mid to hook/engage on the midlaner with your own mid, you'll force a flash at the very least, and can even give your midlaner a big edge. If you stay mid and stay there for even 1 wave, you will be inting your mid. That's because midlane is hard to gank (because lane is short) so you won't do much, while still stealing your mid's xp so they will have less XP. You'd apply pressure but that pressure wouldn't help your midlaner do anything at all.
